Stopover. Rooms in little courtyard out the back were clean, sufficient but some tattiness. Great Friday night special meal. Place looked like it needed new ideas. Lacked atmosphere, clientele and the decor was a mish mash of not sure what! Went to another pub to enjoy the evening that was bustling.

We stayed in room 17. It seemed clean except for the black mould around the shower. There was a long crack down the middle of the sink. There were also multiple cracks in one if the cups. The locked front door also inexplicably unlocked and opened itself slightly in the night!

Lovely country pub, beautifully & tastefully updated, short/ simple but great menu at mid pricing. Very friendly staff just a bit slow/ distracted at checkin and not much information on breakfast etc or local places to go. Room a little dated , was originally nicely done up 15 years ago, but now some stained grout and broken sink in bathroom, and wallpaper/ lamps need a makeover. Still loved my stay- comfortable, safe, peaceful. Nice shower, fluffy large towels, nice shower gel. Provided kettle/ tea/ coffee, fan, tv. WiFi a bit patchy. Had all I wanted! Would stay again.

Great pub! Friendly staff and a nice relaxing atmosphere. Had a great nights stay and would stay here again when next in the area.

Helpful and efficient staff. Easy and convenient parking. Good food. Comfortable bed. Hot shower.

Always try and stay there when down seeing family. Great size rooms comfy beds. Tea/ coffee making in room. Shower has great flow. Food and drink is always great.

Just a quick over night visit so didn't use the pub but check in was straightforward and the room was clean.

Easy reasonabke parking, short walk to city centre.

The rooms are comfortable and suprisingly quit as at back of pub. The rooms were cleaned every day unless you requested not to. Standard of clening very good, tea and coffee making facilities in room as well as a fridge. The only downside was slight crack in sink unit bit it was hairline. The pub and staff are very friendly. The pub is a nice feel lick a regulars sort of pud, with lots of nooks to go into to get privacy. All in all highly reccomended.

Broken chair, headboard fell off the wall in the night landing on my head. Furniture cheap and dated. Wind whistles through gaps in the windows. Noisy especially on friday morning when the beer delivery lorry was unloading right outside
