Lovely guesthouse that has been updated but still has kept its beautiful character. The owners Carl & Tace were so friendly from the get-go and we really liked our room, especially the bed itself, how clean it was and the location. You’re really close to the centre, sea and a nice little park/gardens opposite. Carl & Tace kindly let me keep my wheelchair in the hallway too which really saved us having to keep putting it back in the car when going out. We also really appreciate that we were allowed to check in early too. Added bonus was meeting the two cuties Louis & Daisy the dogs! Would 100% recommend and wouldn’t hesitate staying again if we are back in the area.

Loved our stay at Devon House. We were greeted with a very warm welcome even though we arrived later than expected. Room was a nice size, decorated beautifully and spotlessly clean. Location was great and we were within walking distance of everything we needed. Thanks for having us, we would love to come back one day…

The staff is very friendly and helpful, made us feel very welcome. They were very flexible on the check in and check out. We chose this place because it had a family room and of its location. Only 5 mins to the beach and main food street. The downside is the parking is not available but there is a paid parking storey opposite so was fine and we enjoyed our stay!!

We only stayed one night, but we found Devon House to be a lovely property. The owner’s were very friendly and helpful. We had a lovely stay. X

Very comfortable stay for a family with small kids. The owners gave us a very friendly welcome, and help throughout our stay. Definitely recommend staying here. It's in a good location. There are no noisy bars or pubs nearby, yet it's only a short walk to the beach, parks and harbour.

Visited Paignton for the annual BMAD motorcycle festival. On arrival at the guest house Richard the owner greeted us with a smile and even help me manoeuvre our motorbike into the front terrace to avoid the pitfalls of the towns somewhat draconian parking regulations. There is a multi-storey car park just around the corner if you are unfortunate enough to have a car! Our room was spacious, tastefully furnished and spotlessly clean. The mattress was a foam type (no springs) which I've never tried before and it was a revelation - so comfortable and supportive. The en-suite was a little small, but was again spotlessly clean and did what is said on the tin - and the water pressure in the shower was superb. Even though the Devon is only a 3 or 4 minute walk from the pier and there was a fun fair in full swing until late in the evening, the double glazing did its job and kept the room nearly silent. There is a small but attractive and well kept park just a few yards away from the front door which was perfect for a stroll before breakfast. And breakfast was a welcome reward for the returning stroller. The Full English was cooked to perfection, Clare (the co-owner) served us with care, enthusiasm, friendliness and just the right amount of charming eccentricity to make getting up in the morning something to relish. Great coffee, seemingly endless supplies of fresh toast and the most gorgeous homemade (really!) jams and marmalades rounded off a faultless start to the day. Great.

Richard and Claire were great hosts. We will stay here again next time we are in Paignton.

A nice guest house, very close to sea front. Parking not on site but very close by. Fairly basic but room modern and clean, a decent breakfast and very close to the beach and park. Overnight stay with a four year old and a two year old and would happily recomend to others.

Clean, friendly, functional in a relatively quiet area.

Service was friendly and very accommodating. The room was decorated to a nice standard and the bed was comfortable enough for one nights sleep. The only downside with the room was that the curtains did not block any light from the very large windows. This meant our room was very bright at 6am.

Recently refurbished guest house, a comfy bed in a well appointed room, good shower, nice breakfast. 5 minutes from the beach, high street and train station. Thanks for a lovely stay Richard and Clare!
