The best run of my life. Super cool offpiste run through a glacier. You should be capable of skiing down pretty much everything: powder, ice, moguls, tight turns. Most importantly be under control so you dont end up skiing into a cravasse (ice crack). Quite crowded if you take the basic route, but our guide took us to some other route so we got some fresh tracks etc.

If you’re at Chamonix to ski and you’re pretty good, definitely do this. A once in a lifetime opportunity. We caught a bluebird day and 8 inches of fresh snow so it was exceptional. The hike down with crampons is adrenaline pumping and a bit dangerous. One of my friends caught a crampon spike in the calf and required 3 stitches. We used the main guide service from the village and while competent he was not overly safety conscious. For example he didn’t bother to check my crampons before venturing out so know what you’re doing. The valley beauty is breathtaking especially with fresh snow and other worldly. There are a few tight spots when you cross the glacier and you need to be comfortable making quick turns. All and all a great day

It is spectacular to ski down! Backcountry equipment and a guide are highly recommended, especially if you want to venture beyond the classic route.

The food was soooo cold and the beds are rock hard and there were holes on the roof

Place is good, it needs more focus on furnitures and food and it would be perfrect.
