Unperfessional staff at the front desk

Great experience!

Booked for my parents and grandma. The front desk girl told them there’s complimentary breakfast when checking in. My parents didn’t asked and it’s totally ok if they didn’t say so. However when they went for breakfast the following day they were told that it was impossible and nobody would give them free breakfast. As I said we understand we didn’t pay for the breakfast when we booked rooms and we didn’t have to eat at hotel, but the way they treated us and responded didn’t make any sense. Hope they can do better in communicating with customers.

The hotel is one of the leading brands in the industry, unfortunately it was a disappointing experience, checked in with a room of cigarettes smell, strong odor, shocking that Westin would rent out a room in such condition for nearly $200 a night in Qingdao, China

I was stolen USD300.00 by the staff there. It is terrible experience there.

No concierge or bell boy met us upon arrival. We were finally directed to the front desk for check-in, then abandoned to find our room on our own, with no explanation of the room or facility...never had that happen in a "5 star" hotel before. Breakfast buffet was easily the worst of any western hotel I've tried in China...food cold, strange flavors, not refilled...and a very strange layout which obscured many of the offerings.

This hotel is in the heart of new city next to May 4th Square. It is very easy to walk to many major attractions from there. It is also right next to the subway station. Half a block away, there is a shopping mall hosts many excellent restaurants. The hotel is excellent. Room is clean and comfortable. The only negative is that there are so many people during the breakfast, and it is kind of crowded. I guess the breakfast is included for every guest.

Excellent customer service. Only thing was fiddling of the temperature control buttons. Comfortable beds but rather squeezy for 2 ersons on a double bed. Restaurant breakfast was good with a friendly male manager. Great location

Carpet was dirty. Color of Bath towel was grey. Amenitity was dismal.

Nice hotel in great location in centre Qingdao. Service minded and helpful staff. The room could use an upgrade, but I loved the bathtub :)

For being the number one hotel in the city, you can expect more. The beds in the room were too small for family with kids. The bathroom door didn’t close well and the internet wasn’t the best even for China. On the other hand, the staff is amazing amd the breakfast is the best I have ever seen.

Apart from the receptionist failed to contact us when the rooms ready for us. We had to line up again for another 20 mins to get the access card despite we checked in earlier in the day. Everything else is excellent as you would expect from Westin.

I seldom write about hotel experience because the grade of the hotel determines everything which should be predictable. This time I have no choice but to write about how bad it was to stay here in Qingdao Westin. I checked in at 5pm and when I got into my room, I found that the paint inside the bath room in the ceiling was peeling while there was a rusty stain in the bathtub. Half of the curtain inside the bedroom couldnt be closed due to mechanical problem and some parts of the wardrobe's paint peeled. I called to ask them to change a room for me and they came to do so. The new room was stuffed with smell as I guess it was not always occupied. Anyway, I took it. Then I went to the club lounge for a drink as they told us that there's a free of charge cocktail time. Inside the lounge it was occupied by many chinese families and children running. The food is chinese dinner food and it was not cocktail happy hour time. I went back to my room but then I discovered that both the TV remote control couldnt be used. Again I waited for 30mins before they came to change the battery. The other morning I went to have breakfast again in the lounge. No choice of tea and there were not even enough utensils and tables for breakfast. The coffee machine was with milk and coffee spilt all over. Also about the pool, it allows people from outside to come for swimming and it was crowded with children and tutors teaching/ learning swimming. It was the worst experience i ever had with a 5-star hotel
