Property was decent for our first time in Mexico. The rooms were well maintained. Hotel needs upgrades as far as the walls having filtration

Our family had a great time, everything was good! the only concern was the algae. I noticed the other hotels in the same area clean better the beach.

When we first arrived, we were disappointed, but it slowly grew on us. It isn't nearly as big as we assumed from the online photos, there are TONS of kids EVERYWHERE, and the property is showing its age. We upgraded to premiere level for an extra $65/night but that pool area was more full than the general pool. However, that did get us access to a less rocky section of the beach (everyone could use it, though) and access to the private area on the first floor that was quieter and easier access for drinks and a limited food menu. The staff works REALLY hard, but just be aware that if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing time, you may be disappointed given the number of kids in a smaller space. The restaurants are good; we ate at the steak house and the Italian restaurant. We found it interesting, though, that we didn't see any guacamole anywhere, but we didn't specifically order it either. There are only 3 smaller elevators for the entire building, which made it difficult to move around, but not impossible. And the concierge staff was instructed to up-sell us on more vacation packages and sales presentations. After 5 p.m., all the bars shut down except for one small bar in the lobby and the sports bar around the corner. Those bar tenders worked liked crazy to keep up with demand. If you have kids, this may be a good location. If you're looking for a kid-free, quiet, relaxing experience, this MAY not be your ideal location.

You go to a resort to relax, so having staff approach you constantly to try to sell you different packages can be annoying. I also think there should be more public restrooms in different areas of the resort, as there is only one.

This place was amazing! I went on a mother daughter trip and it was just what we needed. The place doesn’t have a TON to do like some other resorts but it was perfect for us. We stayed for a week and all we wanted was a pool, beach, and bar and Dream Sands checked those boxes. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Food was okay, but still good. The mexican restaurant was the best food we had while there. Amenities and room service always came within an hour, most of the time less than 30minutes. All the workers seemed happy to work there and were always helpful. Like most areas along the beach that “muggy’ feeling from the humidity is there but not something I would complain about but something to be aware of. The beach was clean and little to no seaweed. Obviously the stores in the resort and around are $$$ but if you bring all you need you’re all good! Can’t wait to be back :)

The grounds are beautiful and the staff were so helpful and accommodating. The resort is somewhat on the smaller side, but it was still very nice. One drawback is the restaurants are only really open for dinner. So breakfast and lunch is usually the buffet. But the pools and beaches were great.

Staff member Jose Itza reached around the tongs that were in the bowl to grab my chips with his bare hands. It was the rudest most disgusting thing I have ever saw at a restaurant. He was really short while we were ordering and I didn't catch on to this until after I saw him treat our food that way. We were one of few Black Americans in the restaurant and my child saw him treating everyone else's food with care and using tongs so I am at a loss for words on why we were treated this way. It was very upsetting and disheartening.

Top TIER. I arrived July 11th to a different company resort in Playa Del Carmen but it was not at all like the pictures or reviews. I quickly had to find a new resort and Dreams Sands in Cancun came highly recommended. They were so patient with me making the sudden change of hotels and assured me the best experience. I was upgraded to an ocean view and the staff were IMPECCABLE. The food and drinks are good and the staff goes above and beyond. I asked the bartender for some coconut oil so I could tan better and expected a small portion but he gave me a whole new container and best believe my tan was amazing after. Really happy Dreams turned my experience around for the better. 100% would go back and already miss it.

I stayed four nights and had the most wonderful experience! Staff was friendly and amazing and incredibly helpful as I was a solo traveler! Definitely a wonderful resort to bring your entire family. Food was delicious and there was always an option at any time of the day or night. Hands down will be back again!

The staff at this resort was beyond compare. Everyone we met were so helpful and friendly. This alone was enough to book another stay. We left feeling like part of the family. Not to mention the beautiful beach which was the biggest draw.
