Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable.

Really clean and comfortable, very friendly staff. Reason for a 4 not a 5 is if you have a downstairs room the soundproofing isnt awful but isnt great including hearing the drains from upstairs and general moving around. Might not be the same in all rooms.

The place was quaint, in the middle of a quiet village that was all closed up at 8pm when we arrived. We found it strange to have the toilet separate from sink; and no matter what we did we had no wifi and very spotty telephone connectivity. Pls note that the front desk closes at 7pm which, while listed, it is not highlighted. We received notice of how to check in after hours, 2 days after our check in… thank goodness the host was very gracious.

We stayed in a double room which was basic with rudimentary self catering facilities which were in need of a refresh. Although the receptionist who checked us in was friendly and helpful, for the majority of our stay there was no-one behind the reception desk.

A different style of checking in. They send you a code thru email for door as there is no one to check you in but once we figure it out, it was easy.

A great value for the money. I wanted to visit Biarritz, San Sebastian and St. Jean de Luz and this was a convenient place in between all 3

Lovely one night stay in a quaint little town with easy parking but close to other major centres like St Jean de Luz. Wonderful restaurant found next to church as well with amazing food. Very good value for money and beautiful breakfast room

A place to stay.

Excellent for a quick stopover, room was tastefully decorated and comfortable. Location is excellent and we would return.

The staff were very helpful and the room was clean and tidy.

Lovely hotel, we had a studio which was great for making own breakfasts and drinks we did have one or two meals in but the restaurants in Ascain serve good food so we ate out most of the time. We travelled by train to St Jean de Luz and then used the local bus to get about very good service. The staff at Hotel-Résidence Alaia were so welcoming and very helpful. We will definitely visit again.

Very comfortable bed. Spotless room. Wonderful to have a fridge and kettle in the room. This is off the beaten track and you need your own transport. It is close to the train to La Rhune
