The gentleman who helped us check in was excellent 1) he waited for us past 6:00pm, 2) he gave us tips about things to do in the area, and 3) he drove us to Greenwich Observatory (he refused to accept a gratuity).
One woman at the hotel was unkind to us 1) she yelled at us for leaving a fan on for two hours, 2) we went to another hotel for one night (no AC at the Lyall), so they changed the door access code without telling us; when we called, she said she had tried to contact us for days, and 3) they picked up a towel from the floor and two from bathroom hooks and put them outside to dry (no replacement and no way to know which had been on the floor).
