This is my go-to-place whenever I need to relocate within Montreal. I love the free breakfast. The staff are friendly. Nice. Wifi is fast. Great.

Good in General

- Sheets, pillow with pillow case, and towels are provided. -Free breakfast. -There is an outside area. -Great staff. -Super clean. -Kitchen area and fridge. -2-4 minute ealk to Metro (inderground subway) and buslines. CONVENIENT!!!! ***The only thing I wish that could be different is that hotel guests be advised to keep their conversations down in the dorm.rooms. Yes I get that there are ear plugs at the front desk, and I even used my noise cancelling headphones, but there are people so inconsiderate thinking no one is in the room sleeping. Never experience the noise level in my room at any hostel I have stayed at. Stayed in the 8 bed dorm roo.. #22. There are two bathrooms, which is great. Small lockers. Has a fridge. Plenty of rooms to hang things up.

I’ve stayed at the Samesun at least thirty times over the last ten years in a private room. The staff are the best, they are always very helpful and pleasant.

All in all not too bad someplace to be.

Front door of room went straight into bathroom. You are facing the front door when you sit on the toilet. Because there is no door separating the bathroom and bedroom, only a retractable divider, the room gets very humid when showering. The room is also tiny. The room was only about a foot and a half wider than the length of the bed.

I booked for my daughter to stay at the property as she was attending a concert in Monteal. The stay was so bad that she only spent one night there even though she was booked for 2 nights. Linen was dirty, the showers and wash basin faucet had brown water from it. We had spent $1200 for the 2 nights and she had to leave after the first night as she booked into another hotel. She requested a refund but received nothing thus far. I would not recommend this hotel.

The communal area is filled with good cheer while the staff is notably and immediately responsive, most welcoming, good humored, caring, gracious and impeccably well mannered. While standards are appropriately enforced, the staff are practical and reasonable in navigating around accommodating guests’ special requests. Breakfast offerings include quality, home-baked, fresh, hot muffins and fresh hot coffee, fresh bagels, cream cheese and varieties of quality jams. The staff make impressive efforts to treat guests fairly and equally, making time to interact with guests in order to create a cozy, safe and fun-loving experience. The facility is so welcome that guests requiring extended stays want to remain at Samesun indefinitely if they are in transition. (The faculty limits stays to one solid week within a single month sin there is ac healthy and safe guest turnaround. The faculty has solid sit conditioning throughout, a kitchen and a bar staffed by the desk managers. Additionally, the staff monitor a secured storage closet for guests that is only a few yards from the management desk. Overall, the stay at Samesun is a lovely, memorable and unique cultural experience filled with lovely memories. This facility is a far cry from any North American hostile.

Really enjoyed my stay. The dorm was safe, clean, quiet and everyone was respectful. It was fun to meet so many solo travellers from all over the world staying there. I will absolutely stay here again when I am in Montreal next.

NO TV in the lounge & internet
