Check-in was fast and easy and the property overall was excellent. The pool area was really great. The hotel is within walking distance to the sites that I wanted to see and there were plenty of restaurants close by. The room was clean and tidy and I would definitely book here again.

Terrible staff super slow check in over 40 mins also slow check out . The staff need to learn how to deal with guests . The hotel itself is good and great pool but only open from 10 am . The area around the hotel is not great if it’s you first time in Rio .

I love this hotel. This was my second stay in 10 months. My only criticism was check-in. There were 4 people ahead of me and it took almost a half hour to get to me.

You may save money staying here instead of the beach, but you’ll quickly find of why once you arrive. My friends had broken AC and ants in their room requiring them to move units multiple times throughout our trip and if you want a drink by the pool you will wait your whole trip to get even the simplest of orders. And to the latter it’s not about being more patient or them being understaffed, it’s literally just poor service.

Clean room. Excellent staff. The only thing i didn't feel comfortable in the area around the hotel.didnt feel safe.

While the immediate surrounding area isn't suitable for walking + exploration, the hotel itself is an oasis that is such incredible value for money - we ate at the on-site restaurant for three dinners! The massages we received were fantastic also. We'd definitely return!

Decepcionado. Solo la recepción, la limpieza y el área de piscina me gustaron. El bartender de la piscina desorientado, nunca me sirvió el drink que le pedí. Aire acondicionado, tv, decoración de la habitación y baño antiguos Desayuno desorganizado y frutas sin sabor.

No water and no kettle to make tea or coffee. The staff barely speaks English and sends you from one person to the other. On our last day, I wanted to check if it was possible to have small breakfast packed and some juice or water, as we were leaving very early in the morning. I was send from the reception to the restaurant to ask. The guy in the restaurant ignored me when I talked to him. Took other 2 men first. Turned to me and asked me to type it to Google translate!!! Next, he said that I need to speak at the reception! I went back to the reception and… was told to deal with the restaurant! It looks like these people do not get any training in customer service. Of course, I gave up on asking. There were more issues with booking too. We just did not have a good luck at this hotel.

Location, pool, breakfast were good

I very much enjoyed my stay at Vila Galé! The staff were excellent from check in to check out, the property itself is beautiful in an old, but updated colonial property. I stayed in one of the apartments right beside the pool and terrace, and even while you were situated with a walkway outside the room, I felt safe and comfortable enough to open the windows wide and take a nap or do whatever within the room. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to explore the beautiful Rio de Janeiro!

I found the hotel clean and well located close to the airport. I was surprised there was no bell man to assist with the luggage despite being at a 5 star hotel. This could be added. In addition, I was not able to order room service despite calling several times- no one answered. I very much appreciated the late check out and the front desk staff was great. Overall a a wonderful stay but a few things could be improved upon.

The location is great! The facilities are good, too. The room was good, too, but you can hear next door depending on the room assignment (some rooms share a door with next door, that’s why their noises will be audible). The bathroom is good; the shower head had the right pressure, but the lights could be brighter in there. I didn’t get the chance to experience the pool or the bar. Breakfast was wonderful, with many options of pastries, fruits, and omelets.

Awesome hotel that is centrally located for exploring the city.

This reservation was made for members of my family, with payment scheduled to be charged to the credit card registered in my Expedia account. I would not be present at the time of check-in. On the day of arrival, my family contacted me to inform that the hotel was requiring the physical presentation of the credit card or payment in cash. When I spoke with a staff member, I was informed that the payment could be accepted as long as I sent an email confirming my details and attaching a copy of my identification. I explained that I would not send a copy of any personal document but could authorize the payment via email or, if necessary, arrange for payment in cash. After speaking with the manager, the staff member agreed to proceed with the check-in upon receiving my email authorization and processing the payment using the card already registered with Expedia.
