A pretty bad experience overall: The good: Great location The hotel is superbly styled and designed. I love everything about how it looks - the lobby, restaurant, corridors, room. The bad: 1. Ventilation in the toilet was not working. The room always smelled like poop. The service person said they would check this - I don't think they did, and it was never fixed. 2. Breakfast was terrible. How can you make scrambled eggs so badly, I don't know. 3. You have to deposit the key every time you leave. This is a hassle, and sometimes you even have to wait just to go to your room after a long day. It also did not feel secure at all, as they gave me the key just from me saying my room number, with no verification. 4. The wi-fi connection in my room was terrible. I told them about it, they said they would "restart" the router, which I knew would do nothing, and indeed it did nothing. They should really do better.

This gem of a hotel popped up here on Google. I booked our room direct with their website and was astonished at such a grwat price for the area. Our room was huge by french stabdards with a full bath. My companion wanted a bath but the tub stopper didnt work. The entire hotel is fresh, elegant, but with a hip vibe. It reinede me of The M hotel in Seattle. We were on the 5th floor overlooking the street. December 30 and it was very cold outside. The lobby and cafe were warm and inviting. Everywhere a comfortable nook and space to relax. Staff were always friendly and outgoing. This was a special hotel near every attraction in the heart of Lyon. 5 💚 for sure.

This hotel is definitely located smartly. Close to many of Lyon’s interesting sites and restaurants. The room was ok. The bathroom was dated. The hotel is cold. Both the lobby and the room. There was an incident that occurred that rubbed me the wrong way. We were sitting in the lobby viewing our phones and having some drinks. This incident happened on Valentine Day. We we asked to move to the club (which was cold) for a private party. We were the only ppl asked to move. This put me in a bad place. The lobby where we was seated was crowded. It’s so ironic that this happened because just moments before this happened my partner said something like what a nice place to hang out. I think anyone else’s stay will be fine. But I will not attempt another visit to this hotel!

We had a very pleasant stay at Hôtel Globe et Cecil. While hotels in the area are generally priced at an astronomical level, this property offers a much more reasonable rate without compromising on quality. From the moment we arrived, the reception was warm and welcoming, with staff who were consistently polite, attentive, and genuinely friendly. Although the room was not particularly large, the layout was thoughtfully designed to make excellent use of the available space, ensuring comfort and functionality throughout our stay. The breakfast selection was both varied and of high quality, providing a great start to each day. Overall, we were thoroughly satisfied with our experience and would not hesitate to return in the future.

This was such a great hotel. The rooms were large, clean and modern. All staff were welcoming and polite. This will be our first choice hotel when we return.
