Nice clean room, friendly staff and nice breakfast. Had to check in before 10pm which could have been an issue but we tweaked plans. Would definitely stay again

Lovely food room was huge staff so helpful and friendly

I booked to stay one night with a chance I might need a second night. Room was a separate wooden chalet. Door very difficult to open. Small bathroom with shower a bit difficult to access unless you have long legs. Mirror near toilet not easy to see. Glad I didn’t need to make up. Breakfast was a bag with croissant and porridge to mix yourself and an apple. Jam, butter orange juice also provided but juice not very nice and make your own coffee from Nescafé in room. I wasn’t expecting the ritz but went to Tesco for breakfast. Dinner service a tad slow but I think they had problems. Fish and chips very well done so a bit overcooked. Just booked in for same price elsewhere, a world of difference.

Very friendly staff good food and clean nice size rooms.

Warm welcome by staff. Shown to room in adjacent building. Room was tired, hanging curtains at one point t the pole fell down. There was a kettle and tea coffee in room and breakfast was out through door late evening in brown paper bag consisting of a croissant cereal bar apple and carton of juice. Room was very hot and no fan. The shower room had pubic hairs on the floor and sink. Meal at hotel was poor too. Very disappointed all round.

The staff tried very hard but there was a slight disorganization about the service. We missed having a rack/bench to put at least one bag on. Also found it difficult with no rack/soap holder in the shower and no hooks or places to put our clothes while showering. Lastly the only mirror in the bathroom was on the opposite wall from the sink. This made it difficult to shave.

I enjoyed another stay at the Old Red Lion. I was allocated a lovely room with a good bathroom. I appreciated the kind welcome from the staff especially as it was quite late in the evening when I arrived. I informed the staff in advance of my estimated time of arrival and they were reassuring that my arrival time was fine for them. Enjoyed a pint of beer at the bar about 9.30pm before going to bed. The breakfast provided in the room was great as I had to leave quite early in the morning to attend a meeting in Haverhill. Looking forward to my next stay at the Old Red Lion Inn. Staff were amazing and food was brilliant, real old school pub food and great value. Room was spacious and comfortable. Only slight niggle is that shower was an electric one and whilst hot enough it was not very powerful. Anyway, I'm returning so that hasn't put me off

Breakfast very poor. Continental breakfast in room; gluten free croissant inedible as it needed to be cooked first and no facilities for that. Evening meal poor and definitely not “home cooked” as advertised.

Plenty of onsite parking. Went to check in at the bar lovely warm welcome and we were taken to our room. When we checked in which about 20:55PM we asked what time the restaurant stops serving unfortunately it had already closed. We started unpacking and there was a knock at the door. One of team came to see if we would like soup, sandwiches or fish n chips as they would hate to know we were hungry. That was amazing as we stay away a lot each year and never had such good service. The food was plentiful and delicious. Breakfast was too again great service the team are very courteous, helpful and can’t do enough for you. My only drawback was the bed was uncomfortable so I didn’t get a good sleep. Other thank that a lovely place to stay and dine.

Lovely and well done out with all you need, great communication from the host. Easy to find, parking right outside the door. Well equipped rooms and friendly staff in the pub with nice food. Breakfast was a Harvest Festival in a paper bag - a nice croissant, butter, apple, cereal bar and an orange juice. Will definitely use again.
