Had a wonderful 3 night stay here. Originally a prison, it has been converted into a quirky, comfortable hotel retaining many of the features. The bedrooms were cells, small but well equipped with ensuite bathrooms. The position is slightly outside the centre of Stockholm but all the better. Situated on a lovely peaceful island within walking distance to Gamla Stan and the museums. The breakfast is amazing with an enormous variety of choices. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend a stay here and would love to return. The in house museum is a must.

Långholmen hotel and hostel is a truly wonderful place to stay! The hostel room we booked, however, was a bit claustrophobic and the mattresses were thin and rather uncomfortable. We ended up upgrading on-site to one of their hotel rooms. As this was a special trip, it was worth it to us. If it were just me, traveling solo, the hostel would have been just fine. Breakfast is 5-stars. Staff is 5-stars. There is a restaurant on site with a limited menu but is quite good and reasonable in price. It is a bit of a walk, about 10 min, to any transit. If you don't have a car, this may be a problem. However, we walked or rented bikes and it was fine for us. I have been to Stockholm before and hands down Langholmen is one of the most beautiful places in the city. 10/10 recommend! Maybe choose the Hotel room though if you want a more comfortable stay.

What a fantastic stay! I was nervous about staying in a former prison, but everything about the experience was fantastic. An excellent option with a delicious breakfast and wonderful employees. I'd definitely stay here again!

Beautifully converted building, full of character and very comfortable. Liked the decor with the reminders of its former life as a prison. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Good kitchen if you want to cook for yourself and an excellent (huge) breakfast available for an extra charge.

This place was amazing. Such beautiful rooms and corridors. The location was really beautiful and I walked every day to the city and to trains. The staff were so friendly and so helpful. I also went to the restaurant at the hotel. Amazing food and great service. I invited my friends from my conference to join me and they said it was the best food they had all week.

Best location in Stockholm! Långholmen is beautiful, and there are plenty of good restaurants & coffe shops in neighbouring Hornstull area. Excellent hostel with friendly professional staff and good facilities. Quiet & relaxing.

It was an awesome stay. I can recommend everyone to stay in there. Atmosphere is really good.

Nice location, in a quite small island close to subway station (10-15 mins walking distance). A grocery store close to the subway station, where you can buy fresh food and cook at the public kitchen provided by the hotel. The room is not big, but it is unique experience to stay in a "jail" cell. The beach in front of the hotel is not big either, but it's enough for you to go having some fun.

We were visiting Stockholm on a fairly tight budget, so when we arrived at this hotel we were amazed at how good the facilities were. The staff were available 24 hours and they were exceptionally helpful. The location is outstanding, beautiful surroundings on an island in the middle of Stockholm! Whoever thought of converting this building into a hotel/hostel is a genius, it works extremely well. I was visiting Stockholm with four friends for a martial arts training weekend, I will be returning in the summer with my wife to visit this beautiful city and take full advantage of the hotels location. Can't recommend enough!

Quirky location in a converted prison on the beautiful island of Langholmen, which in its own right is worth the nightly fee. Beautifully renovated building with suprising charm and beauty considering its former life! Rooms are a tad tight but feel cosy whilst the en suite was wonderful. Slight frustration at having to pay for sheets but other than that would highly recommend. Only a short walk to Sodermalm and Gamla Stan whilst the island itself is worth a visit in its own right.

Beautiful grounds/bldgs, wonderful location with a small beach close by! Breakfast buffet was excellent with numerous items to choose from. The museum was fascinating, but I would recommend going after your stay - a very gruesome history. Very clever redo of the jail - how often can you say you have been in jail and it was a pleasant experience! Highly recommend!
