The room was spacious (we were in grand room 7), had access to a balcony, was clean (though dated) and the bed was extremely comfortable. As the check in is done by bar staff, there wasn’t a lot of help or guidance as to what to do in the area or places to eat. The bistro at the hotel had great food and a great nearby cafe (Xtraction) where we went for breakfast. Whilst there was a kettle and toaster, there were only two coffee mugs and two glasses (which were used to hold the milk packets in the fridge ). No plates or cutlery, besides one teaspoon. There was nothing to wash/dry the dishes with. But whilst spartan, it was comfortable and we’d stay there again (we now know what to bring). It was very close to Newcastle beach.

The staff was helpful and friendly, the room was clean and tidy but only the mattress wasn't in good condition so couldn't sleep well. Otherwise it was good

Staff were great, food and atmosphere at the venue downstairs were good too. The room is very basic, old and in need of maintenance. For the most part, this is reflective in the price, however the bathroom had mould on the ceiling.

An older accommodation, not suitable for people with mobility issues, conveniently located, great staff, rooms could definitely be cleaner, fine for an overnight stay.

We stayed on top floor. No lift. Building old but clean. Meals available on site. Reasonable price. On street paid council parking. EZY Parking App facilities this but card can be used at meters. Tea and Coffee facilities in room, nothing else and no microwave.

Love hotels like this. The property was stately and quaint. Not for the snobs but so practical and the location is fantastic. Great value, we are looking forward to our next stay.
