We travel regularly, and most hotels are comfortable - and totally forgettable. The Galle Face is not a destination you will forget. It has charm that can't be recreated, with colonial wings, the long frontage onto the Green and the Indian Ocean. And what a breakfast! Bourdain appreciated just how good this hotel was - and it is just as fantastic today. I/we have stayed here a number of times, and will continue to into the future. I am just disappointed that this app doesn’t allow for a rating higher than ‘wonderful’!

Elegant old hotel. Beautifully decorated. Excellent service overall although there was no doorman to help with bags when I left the hotel at 0400. A minor point. An issue with the room aircon was dealt with immediately. Room service was very quick. The only thing less than perfect was high humidity in my sea view balcony room. No doubt humid air from the moist sea spray entering the room when we left the balcony doors open. Perhaps a de-humidifier would help with that. Highly recommend and would definitely stay there again. Well worth the cost in my opinion.
