Clean room! Great helpful staff. Very convenient to all you want to see in Guimares. I truly enjoy staying at this facility!

Just a short walk from the bus station. The reception was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The relaxation areas in the hotel are beautifully decorated. I would stop here again.

The room and bathroom were clean. The beds and linens were comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel sits in a perfect location. It is close to the parking area if you have a car. Remember to stop at the hotel first to collect the parking card for 5 euro. The historic area is walkable because this hotel is in the center. The art work throughout the hotel adds a special touch. Our room had floor to ceiling windows and a balcony view of the street in front of the hotel. We loved it! The young lady at the desk was very nice and helpful.

Excellent hotel but it doesn't have an elevator, we had to climb 3 floors.

Great place and location! They do have paid parking for the hotel for 5 euro, but the staff told us there is a free parking lot, which typically has open spots. Both lots are a bit of a distance, but we parked in the free lot and walked for our whole time there.

The smell of cigarettes perforated through the stairwells and into the guest rooms, particularly on the first floor. There is no elevator, which can be an issue if you have a lot of luggage. Staff are not willing to help out with luggage because they claim to be a 2-star hotel. Will not return to this hotel.

Beautiful town to visit.

Very clean and comfortable hotel! Everything went smoothly from check in (we were able to store our luggage in the breakfast room) to check out. Our room was spacious and we were able to adjust the heat pump for heating the room. The continental breakfast had a nice variety of pastries, yogurts, cheese and meats. I enjoyed being able to have a large freshly brewed coffee. I would happily stay here again. The hotel is in a good location for walking to the old city.

Fabulous place to stay in a fabulous city!

Property is dated and old. Typical Portuguese rudeness during front desk interactions, but not bad. Property states it has laundry facilities, not true. It also states it is wheelchair accessible, which is not true. There is no elevator and there are stairs to go anywhere in the property.

This a nice, clean hotel in a central but quiet area. Staff were fantastic. I only give it 4 stars, however, as there is no elevator above the first floor. The property clearly states this on its website but it's still a pain to drag luggage up the stairs. There's also no coffee in the room.

Able to park outside the hotel to unload our luggage, two options available for parking, both were approx 300 m, from hotel. Option 1 was free, totally safe, second option was 5€ p/day secured parking

This was a charming, well kept, small hotel in a very convenient location. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The included buffet breakfast was delicious and plentiful.

The beauty of the place

Ideal location and quietness. Mestre de Avis is a modest hotel but feels more than a two-star hotel. The bedroom was spacious as well as the bathroom, both impeccably clean. The decoration of the bedroom is minimalist, smart, tasteful. The hotel is placed at the city center, but not by the bar square (5 minutes walk) which makes it a very quiet. I had breakfast at Clarinha (highly recommend Amores) or Camir ("Napoleão" for the afternoon tea) and have no opinion on their breakfast.
