What I liked:The staff at the front desk were wonderful! Very helpful, kind and efficient. What I did NOT LIKE:It was thirty-nine steps to our room, #15, NO LIFT! My wife and I are both in our mid-sixties and this was VERY rough on us.

The building was needing a little attention, as a tired looking. Shower could be bigger. We had a evening meal which was fantastic. Breakfast was excellent but a bit costly.

The hotel staff where lovely and the rooms very spacious and clean ,we stayed in 24 could have done with a note on the entrance door for people not to slam tge door or bang theyre cases up and down the stairs as number 24 is right under the stairs .Had a lovely stay will be back .

We stayed at the Golden Fleece for 4 nights. The location can't be beat. Right at the center of the town, so easy walking distance to all the shops, pubs and James Herriot museum. Our spacious room faced the square and was very quiet. A fresh bottle of water was left each day, which was appreciated. All the staff that we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Parking for the hotel is available. Just be aware that there is no lift.

Overall an excellent place to stay and enjoy the surrounding area. Location is great though it’s very busy being on the town square. Convenient parking and food and Bar is great.

Lovely hotel and stay after a bumpy start due to the tv not working and unable to get wifi but we were moved into a different room which was great and had a bigger bed. The member of staff was great and resolved the issue immediately

A beautiful hotel in a beautiful town. The hotel had trouble with the boiler so it was very cold in the hotel, but the staff arranged an extra blanket for our bed.

We stopped off 1 night en route to Lincoln. On site parking & well appointed rooms. Bar & restaurant areas very pleasant and breakfast was excellent. Worth knowing the bar serves coffee & cakes so would visit again even if passing through.
