Nice hotel pillows were terrible - too soft

The room was spacious with a nice layout, the location was convenient to the historic city center and the staff were helpful. The direct Uber call link was a big help in getting to the train station.

Hotel is excellent, great location, staff really helpful and friendly. Breakfasts are very good.

This was a great stay. Staff were very accommodating, great room, small bed, all amenities were pretty good. Great breakfast downstairs.reasonably good location, 10 minute walk to most things in old town. Taxi to train station.

Second time staying at this hotel. Good location, easy walking distance to the city centre. Close to Cosy Club and York brewery. Car park close by - £18 for 24 hours. Rooms are clean and modern, designed specifically with York pictures and local furniture. Stayed on room only basis this time as there are plenty of cafes nearby. Staff were very friendly and we were able to check in early. Overall a very pleasant stay in York.

The room was immaculate staff very friendly and a delicious breakfast we always stay at this hotel when we go to York couple of times per year

Breakfast was lovely, but they kept running out of cups, spoons and food, then coming back with 3 cups etc a bit sluggish. Room was very clean. Went for a meal at night, several dishes on the menu were not available, not good enough.

Excellent hotel, friendly and helpful staff, and great location to town centre.

The staff were extremely helpful and the facilities were excellent. Charlie and his colleagues helped us out with a number of things and nothing was too much trouble. A greater choice of pillows would be good as we found the ones provided were not comfortable .

Very convenient location but their “king” bed room which I paid extra for was not a king size bed. Very small.

Loved our stay. So convenient for walking to centre of York and the park & ride. Staff lovely - really friendly and helpful. Great breakfast each morning and good choice for gluten free. Great value for money.

Very helpful and willing staff.

Hotel and staff were very friendly and some went the extra mile to make everything top class, including lots of tongue in cheek banter ! The only drawback was at breakfast as it was difficult to move between equipped stations (must have just hit at high peak time) so some of the hot food weren’t replenished quick enough, but the staff were soon on it. Very close to the centre and choice of close by car parks also reasonably priced. Would definitely go back and stay

Nice clean room, nicely decorated and lovely bathroom. The staff were helpful and friendly and made sure my parking was sorted and I had everything I needed for my stay. The bar was nice and well priced but I didn't have any food myself but I heard it was nice. I would stay there again definitely

The king size bed apparently is a uk king size which is actually a double..?? Only in this hotel..

Stayed here recently for a couple of nights. Room had lovely decor, really cosy and put together. It also had good amenities: quick kettle and a strong hairdryer (not attached to the wall so more convenient). We didn’t use the gym or have breakfast so can’t comment on those. Parking is first come, first served and was full by mid morning at the weekend so bear that in mind if you’re driving. There are other car park options nearby however. Our only complaints were: 1) that the bed was very firm, so we kept waking up in the night with stiff shoulders; and 2) the grouting in the bathroom was getting a little grotty so probably needed replacing or a deep clean. The room was otherwise spotless however. Staff were friendly. Overall, a pleasant stay - just maybe change those mattresses!
