We landed in Reykjavik on early sunday morning, we requested for early checkin previously as our regular checkin is not until 3 PM. She agreed with an extra charge which was ok for us. When we reached the property, the key code that was sent to us over email wont work. After multiple tries calling the number given in the email, we were connected and was put on hold and was told that we would be called back. Upon that, we were not informed that there was some construction / remodel work happening, which I found very inconvenient for the guests. I would have appreciated if we were notified about it previously. Apartment was clean though. But if I think about the stay, I would remember the initial difficulty with checkin process. Location of the apartment was very central with walking distance to all the main attractions in Reykjavik.

The entryway to the Island Apartments was dirty and littered. Once you entered one door, there were bags of trash and recycling awaiting you. When you climbed the stairs, you could see water damage on the walls. Our room had hair in it. We had two towels and asked for more for our kids, and housekeeping said they couldn't accommodate it. We left and went to another hotel without a refund. Couldn't do it! We stayed in 5 hotels during our trip touring the island, and this one was by far the worst.

It's walkable .. The issue is the name of the place is so tiny you cannot easily locate . Also , no communication sent to you via e-mail. If you don't have a roaming phone in that instant you might be sleeping in the street ... I have to ring them as no reception only through phone calll ..

Good location and close to all the interesting activities. Parking is easy. Email communication is prompt. Internet is easy to use. One of the stove control buttons is not responding smoothly.

**There is NO parking on site** You drive around and try to find parking in the city and pay for it each time. We assumed that “parking on site” meant that there is a place to park “on site”. Unfortunately not, and it was hassle each night when we got to the hotel, we had to walk at least a few blocks each way.

The owner was very responsive to my inquiries. The check-in/out process was smooth and straightforward. Loved the spacious room and amenities.

Communication and willing to assist during work hours was great. Shower and bathroom sink weren’t draining, and help would not arrive until after we checked out next morning. Noisy neighborhood. Even in early morning hours.

Nice and functional appartement in excellent area but …directly on busy street and above a bus stop ! Not recommended for light sleepers

Cozy, highly functional apartment in the heart of Reydjavik, walking distance to restaurants and attractions. Extended my stay by 3 days, liked it so much...

False advertisement. We booked this apartment because it mentioned they have onsite parking. There was no onsite parking. It was quite difficult to find street parking.

Ver clean and modern apartments. Beds are super comfortable. Kitchen was adequate. Great downtown location. Walkable to most attractions. Would definitely stay again. Had to walk up steep steps with luggage. A bit noisy at night, due to being on a main street. A little hard to locate- signage could be better.

Excellent location within walking distance to restaurants, stores and sites. Communication to let us know about early check in was great and service was great. Would definitely go back to this apartments again.

We loved everything about this location. Very clean apartment, even though it feels more like a small dorm room. We enjoyed all the shops, bars and restaurants one street up. Will definitely stay here again when we come back.

I found the family studio to be very practical in meeting our needs. Great location!!!

Great stay. Was tight with 3 and a weeks worth of luggage. No closets. Great location. No elevator. :-)

Great location a short walk from bus stop 6 making it ideal for transfers and day trip pick-ups / drop-offs. Kitchenette was really useful for making sandwiches for day trips.

Family trip. Clean, safe and great location to the downtown.
