We had an excellent stay at Kirishima Kokusai Hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Kirishima area. We stayed in a Premier Deluxe Japanese-Western Style Room (Yukemuri View), which was exceptional and very spacious, with a beautiful outdoor lanai and a fantastic view out toward Sakurajima Island. It was the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. The public baths were a highlight of our stay. There were both indoor and outdoor options, along with a sauna, and even a unique section where you could apply a coating of mineral-rich mud to your skin. We also tried the massage services, which were incredibly relaxing and a great addition to the overall onsen experience. The hotel’s location is ideal for exploring Kirishima-Kinkowan National Park. We were able to get to Onami Pond early in the morning before it became crowded with hikers and tourists, which made the experience even more special. The buffet breakfasts and dinners were delicious and offered a great variety of local cuisine, including Kagoshima pork and Miyazaki beef. Everything was fresh and well-prepared, and we looked forward to each meal. The staff were friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout our stay, and the free on-site self parking was a very convenient bonus. Overall, this hotel offers a perfect combination of comfort, location, and authentic local experiences. We would definitely stay here again.

Fine view from the room, spacious room, breakfast and dinner included in the cost. multiple choices of hot springs, a variety of play things, table tennis, karaoke, pinball-type machine. No need to go out. The food variety is limited, and the quality is not very high-class.

Great hotel in a fantastic location, the steam geysers are going 24/7 which makes for a beautiful view. Hotel itself has tons to do from the Onsen to Games room. The included breakfast and dinner buffet were excellent. The Onsen is quite large with and outdoor section too. The provided pyjamas are so comfy wish I would’ve purchased some.

Breakfast and dinner buffet was yummy. Loved the sulphur smell of Onsen water and volcanic mud all over the body. Also we were lucky to have seen the traditional taiko performance that’s only on every now and then. Absolutely stunning. There’s also free local sake tasting, a bonus. Lawson just across the road for your convenience.

the onsen was seriously the highlight of the trip, and the staff was extremely helpful in helping me when I left something in my previous hotel, even though they didn't have to. The buffet breakfast and dinner was huge and the beds were really comfortable. I drove here so no idea on public transportation but parking was easy and I highly recommend!

Overall a very good stay for family travellers. Huge hot spring area, buffet and proximity to the national park for a reasonable premium. The immediate surrounding area is walkable. To reach Kirishima Jingu and trail heads inside NP you need a car. Bus routes run only 2-4 times a day. If you have to take a bus watch out for departure times.

A very classy establishment. What you would expect from a high international standard hotel. The pictures are for the most part a good representation. I would definitely recommend a few nights there.

Our rooms were located on a non-smoking floor but next is next to a room for smokers. My room smell of stale smoke and corridor outside our rooms smell mushy.

Pleasant stay overall. Buffet dinner and breakfast food is average, room is very dated. Onsen is nice, especially the private onsen and bedrock bath (with very reasonable fee).

Surely one of the best Onsen hotels in the area , very traditional Japanese hotel with authentic hot springs, breakfast offers myriad choices of foods. Traditional Japanese dinners were included prepared by chefs with excellent culinary skills. Both meals were included without hassles . I had a wonderful stay in the hotel and will be back again

It is an old building, room is small. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good, but dinner is just so so.

$17xx for 1 night with pork hot pot is a bit of expensive. The toilet is looks very old style and the CS is asking me yen 3xxx for kid’s meal is unreasonable. My baby has 1 year old and we didn’t pay for it. I disappointed with the dinner but the breakfast is ok.

a bad choice at this hotel. Don't trust those pictures that posted online. Compare with the real condition. It is minus scores. Two nights staying, we both did not use our bathroom for showering. The hair dryer wire is covered full of black stain on. Everything looks so old and dusty. Our room rate was covered with bkft and dinner. Looks ok but not the quality. Only like is the hot spring. No more next time.

Hotel shows its age and badly needs an overhaul e.g. faded wood stains in the rooms and chipped paint all over ceiling of the indoor onsen. Dinner is more quantity than quality, breakfast very cafeteria styled. Overall service courteous in the usual Japanese way. Wifi very weak in the evening. Best part is the outdoor onsen. But it is a nice budget way to experience an onsen hotel.
