The rooms need to be updated. The rooms were definitely cleaned, but bc the bathrooms are old it felt more dirty than it was.
Beds were comfortable.
I wouldn’t recommend for families with children. The biggest issue was the large amount of mentally unstable unhoused people that hang out around the property. We saw over 6 incidents with people either getting into fights with pedestrians, being aggressive, pushing over people’s bikes, and the biggest was a woman with her pants down to her knees crawling on the ground while cussing at people. I was with my 3 kids and they were scared.
The location to the Santa Monica Pier is great and there is a slight ocean view, but I would only recommend this hotel for adults.
We had to check out a day early because it was too unsettling for my kids.
