Our first stay but definitely not our last. 'Never judge a book by its cover'. From the motorway, through the industrial estate you may be excused for thinking your sat nav is having a joke. The hotel is not visible until suddenly a left turn into the driveway a beautiful stone building appears. Ample 'free parking' is available. The 2pm check in went smoothly ( note if you have mobility issues please request a ground floor room in the absence of a lift). The staff were most helpful and friendly in every department, reception, restraunt, bar and events. The rooms were well appointed and equipped and for an added giggle the TV thought we were in Amsterdam and the bathroom shaving socket thought we were in Australia. Issues quickly sorted when reported to reception!. At breakfast there was a good selection of hot and cold food and the waiting staff were very prompt and efficient on clearing the tables and dinner was well worth waiting till the 6pm opening time. In the warm weather and in the absence of air conditioning a supply of dans was available. Away from the bar and functions the bedroom was quiet and the beds comfortable. The junior suite had the luxury of a bath but hadn't yet had its makeover with modern usb sockets to charge mobile devices. If like me you have feather allergies please note it on the booking as they offer the luxury and comfort of duck down pillows, luckily I had my antihistamines. Overall Five stars, 10/10 and with clubcard points too, perfect.

Lovely room, staff really helpful. Breakfast want the best so I probably wouldn’t bother with that if I started again. Electric charging on site was very helpful!

Room was clean, the receptionist was very helpful, only marked down slightly due to no air con in the room. Can't help when we have a heatwave but would be good to have Aircon in the rooms when it does hit, which is becoming more frequent

We stay here twice a year and enjoy it every time. They have updated their menus and marketing, so the place looks really good. The room was comfy and clean.

Attended a family wedding, beautiful venue. Friendly staff. Our room was a suite and we were very impressed with it.

Stayed for one night. The breakfast was great and there was plenty of choice.

We were there 3 days, 2 nights and the towels didn’t get changed. There was only one coffee pod and the mugs we used on the 1st night were still the same mugs that we were using Monday morning. We felt that for the exclusive suite that we had booked which was lovely, the coffee/milk/sugar were not sufficient and certainly weren’t replenished and the housekeeping generally wasn’t great.

We didn’t use the amenities as we just needed a bed for the night and quick check-in and getaway. Location was great for us, close to a relative we were picking up before heading out to Manchester airport. We enjoyed chatting in (rusty) German with the friendly lady on the front desk. Forgot her name unfortunately. Would definitely use the hotel again and will recommend to other visitors coming to the area from overseas.

Finishing of quality in bathroom could be better, Pillows were too soft , but bed was very good Staff excellent , breakfast was nice (English) Give it a good 4 out of 5 star
