Superior room was excellent, welcoming and well presented on arrival. The guests living room was a great place to spend a cosy evening in front of the wood burning stove. Breakfast was excellent, fresh produce and good choice, and the fresh eggs were memorable. The electric charge point was a bonus.

The Old Rectory Bed & Breakfast Clocaenog Ruthin LL15 2AT This properties location is surrounded by beautiful countryside. Ideal for couples who are looking for a romantic getaway to sleep beneath the stars, or for families that just want to getaway from it all. Excellent location for stargazers, and tranquil walks Catherine is an amazing hostess. Warm welcome on arrival. Very helpful with carrying our baby up to our room in his car seat. Provided a travel cot, and froggy 🐸 for our little man. Knowledgeable of the history of The Old Rectory, and the surrounding area. Breakfast was excellent Thank you for a delightful stay

This is an excellent B and B. Clean, quiet, safe, affordable and comfortable. It is a bit remote, in a little village, so do take care when driving to it. Our Driving app directed us through some single lane, gravel roads because that was the shortest way. But you don’t have to do that, as we discovered.

We received a very warm welcome from our host on a very windy late afternoon. The house was very welcoming and the guest room we shared was very cozy and inviting. The ensuite room was very clean and the view of the slate roof from the bathroom window was a delight. We drove about 10 minutes into Ruthin for dinner at a pub and then settled into our room for the night. Breakfast was served in the dining room with each cold and hot selection being delivered to us from the kitchen. The homemade orange marmalade was a special treat for our toast! We departed with satisfying smiles to continue on our journey. Highly recommend.

We was made to feel very welcome. The only issue we had was the lack of mobile phone signal.

Excellent all round. Next time though I won't rely exclusively on the satnav, I'll use a map as well!

Catherine was a nice hostess. The B&B was spotlessly clean, which is # 1 requirement for me. Breakfast was very good. The local area was beautiful but extremely rural and without a car, the only thing to do was to walk more than a mile, uphill, to a pub. The Hotels.com description was wrong regarding the distance from Ruthin city center. It said the B&B was 1.6 miles (which would be walkable), but actually it was over 4 miles, NOT walkable.

This peaceful BnB is located in a small village near Ruthin. We stayed in the king room with two comfy chairs, and a small table with tea/coffee etc. The bathroom is large and bright with a full bath and both rooms were very clean. There is an adjoining single room to make this a family room if needed. A lovely cooked breakfast with cereal and fruit is included in the tariff, and you can take up the option of a two-course home-made dinner for a small additional cost, check beforehand though. Afternoon tea was provided in the garden on our arrival, a welcome way to unwind from the day. Catherine is a friendly, helpful and efficient host. Usually she provides emailed directions ahead of your stay, however if in doubt ring before you get to the village as there is no mobile service. Wifi connected easily and worked well, and there is a guest lounge with sofas. Parking is available in the grounds. A lovely stay and we would return if we were staying in the area.
