Room dated and broken furniture in bed and bathroom 3star at best Nice evening meal in pleasant dining room Breakfast in a meeting room with not enough space to get between for me once others sat down and a disabled guest had to walk all round the room to get to her table, table cleared knocking into the back of guest chairs to get by , no apologies, fried eggs dried out and rubbish ,such a shame after a good meal the night before. Definitely not 5 star

The room had rust on radiators in bathroom,. Shower drain was blocked and we had to unblock it. Restaurant refused walkins even though it only had 2 couples there, as they had 2 weddings going on. But reception told us we could eat at the restaurant.

Lovely to have a spa on site but facilities are a bit dated and need refurbishment Reception staff need to be more welcoming, attentive & courteous Window in room was broken & sealed with tape! Wasn’t placed in booked room type but was sited in another of a similar standard

Its a beautiful building with potential but lots of areas need attention. Rooms are clean and bed is lovely, but they need refreshing as shower poor, marks on wall, walls thin so you can hear everything. Pool area needs proper maintenance and attention i.e. repainting, roof sorting as it was dripping, steam room stopped working, changing rooms small, dirty and wet. Pool was cold and lots of children messing about. Limited seating and loungers round the pool and generally needs a conplete makeover. Not what you expect from a relaxing spa weekend. Staff reasonably friendly but nothing special. Corridors cold. Pub next door also needs refreshing and new chairs, carpets etc. Due to rain the carpark was mud bath and needs properly tarmaccing or gravelling. Breakfast fine but nothing special. Signage in hotel is poor. It has so much potential, but falls short sadly.

Stayed with our dog, was the most stress free stay. Can’t recommend highly enough. All staff were friendly, helpful and professional.

Nice place, odd set up with internal restaurant and pub that you walk outside 50m to get to. Reception staff lovely, pub staff good too, but breakfast crew rather disorganised, no-one asked if I wanted a cup of tea in 15-20mins, but the breakfast itself was good. (Yes I know I could have flagged down a staff member if I'd wanted a drink, but no-one noticed so I drank OJ.) Car park is large but no bays are marked so there was some terrible space wasting going on!

We truly enjoyed our stay at Orton Hall. We love traditional hotels with charachter. The grounds were lovely and walkable. Would stay again.

Whilst only a one-night stay, everything was perfect. All staff friendly and clearly properly trained. I particularly appreciated the spontaneous mini-tour of this historic building and brief summary of its history

Our hotel room was very tired, surprisingly no water left out for guests. No robes, slippers or the little extras that most hotels offer now. Charging for slippers, extra towels for pool etc.
