We booked a stay in their family room to accommodate us (two adults and a child). The room included a large double bed, two single beds, and a cot, with plenty of space throughout. The décor was a lovely touch and finished to a high standard. The bathroom was also very nice, although the bath mixer tap (which I forgot to mention to staff) seemed to have a mind of its own. It was very powerful and slightly difficult to turn off properly, but it heated up quickly and still provided a lovely shower experience. Essentials such as body wash, hand wash, shampoo, and conditioner were all supplied. The beds were comfortable, and overall the room suited our needs well. Our room was located on the ground floor, and as this is an older property, I imagine soundproofing can be difficult. There was an early morning pub delivery during our stay, where a large lorry reversed up close to our bedroom window with the usual loud reversing beeps. Normally this wouldn’t bother us, but at 6am it was a little disruptive. Our son was also woken around 10pm when another guest was being shown to the room opposite ours, as the conversation between staff and the guest was quite loud for the time of night beside an occupied family room. Neither issue was a major problem for us, but perhaps something to consider for future late check-ins and deliveries. We ate in the pub that evening, and the food was both tasty and good quality. Afterwards, we enjoyed dessert and evening drinks out on the patio, making the most of the sunshine. The outdoor area is very well maintained and includes a fantastic play and climbing area for children, which our son absolutely loved. The pub and accommodation had a lovely traditional feel throughout, were very well kept, and the staff were friendly, helpful and polite. Breakfast was included with our room — although there was quite a long wait for the food, our full English breakfast and my son’s pancakes were delicious and worth the wait. We would definitely stay again if visiting the area, as it was a great location for our trip to the wildlife park, which was only around a 20-minute drive away.

Popped in for a quick drink and enjoyed it, so booked for lunch later in the week. Really nice staff, very attentive. Pub is quirky (mind your head!!!!) with lots of different areas to drink or eat. Fabulous looking beer garden, which we shall try out when the weather is kinder! Sunday lunch was excellent and very fairly priced. It was obviously a busy time of day (2.15 on a Sunday afternoon) but we didn't wait at all for service. Homemade pork scratchings to start, two roast dinners, two desserts, two pints, a dry rosé and a Bombay and tonic. 10% service, £95. Value for money. On the downside, parts of the pub are looking tired; loos could do with a refurb and some of the carpet would be right at home in a 'sticky' nightclub 🤣

Went for the very first time for a meal for two. 2 mains pork belly and a red curry. Followed by crumble. Both meals only average nothing special. Heard the lady at next table saying lasagne was dry( I was nearly choosing this). £20 for pork £16 for curry. When went to pay an extra 10% added on this also. Shandy was made with soda rather than lemonade didn’t taste nice. Average food at elevated prices. Grounds around car park needs a good cleaning up also. Not overly impressed.

We had a truly fantastic experience at The Leagate Inn today. From the moment we arrived until the second we left, the service was absolutely spot on. The attention to detail were remarkable, and every single member of staff stood out in their own way. The team working on 29 March were exceptional and made us feel so welcome. The Sunday roast was easily the highlight. We opted for the roast lamb, which was served in a huge portion and tasted incredible. The puddings were just as great, making for a brilliant meal that offered excellent value all round. If you are looking for a quality Sunday lunch with top-tier service, this is the place to go. We will definitely be back.

Came in for my 40th Birthday last night and had the sharer Moo and Blue pie.... it was absolutely delicious! That and the Christmas sharer pie i had in December are by far the best pies I've ever had. Keep up the good work. Highly recommend 👌
