Amazing stay!!!

The food is delicious

Great location and the bar/restaurant area is brilliant with music and great styling, very nice staff and good to have free movie selection and tv options. However, we booked a large room, it was no different to our friend’s room who booked medium and was very basic. It’s meant to be minimalist style but the hard bed, thin pillows, hard to control air con and general frugal feel (no coffee/hot drinks facilities) just felt a bit cheap and ripped off considering it’s not a cheap price and how many lovely other hotels there are to choose from.

Absolutely loved our time at Mama Shelter - from the moment we walked in the staff were super friendly and helpful and the roof top bar was great. Rooms were bright and clean with plenty of space. Would recommend adding on breakfast downstairs as a highlight too.

Mama Shelter hotels are always funky and interesting. The Bordeaux one is in a quiet area but only a couple of minutes walk from the main shopping area. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially when we needed advice on how to get the to arena for a show. We ate in the hotel restaurant on the first night as we arrived late after a long day, but the service was non existent and the food average so I would avoid eating there as there are so many fabulous restaurants in the area. The room was quirky with the bed in the middle of the room. We had a really enjoyable 4 days in Bordeaux and would recommend it for a short break.

Quirky decoration throughout, confortable and clean. Staff were welcoming. Located in the city centre, so easy access by foot. There's no access by car due to barriers on the streets, so we had to use a local car park. At night, the area around the hotel didn't feel particularly welcoming due to homelessness, but this was a problem all around the city.

Lovely hotel. Good food if you decide to eat there as well! Helpful front desk.

Air condition not working

Ma chambre était grande propre bien équipée. On m'a accueillie au beau milieu de la nuit suite au retard de mon train le personnel est vraiment gentil. Le resto au rooftop est très bien et la vue est magnifique. Cependant j'ai entendu des propos très désobligeants de la part du 'manager" du resto envers les employées fémines. Ça m'a beaucoup dérangée, je ne suis plus retournée au restaurant pour le reste de mon séjour.

We love the style of the Mama shelter, great location, very good food and friendly staff in a fun decor that we already knew from our visits to Marseille and Paris: great concept!

Of the four hotels we stayed during our holiday in France, this one was the absolute best! I highly recommend this LGBTQ friendly property. It is so much fun and the rooftop bar is a must! The rooms are super spacious (I know… this is a hotel in Bordeaux!) and the bed so comfortable. The mirrors and bed all light up to making it extra cool!

Cute hotel! Lovely bar and fun decor. Wouldn’t stay there again because the area it is in is a bit sketchy (the street specifically) and the only view options are 2 buildings straight across from you on both sides .
