Great location, staff and food

Villas HM Palapas del Mar is a little piece of paradise. The beachfront palapas and hammocks are located on a gorgeous section of beach, the grounds of the hotel themselves are very well cared for and lush but what really stood out for us was the attention of Mike and all the staff in the restaurant. The food was great and the buffet varied each night and there is always somebody nearby to check in on you or take away your plates. The restaurant also has live music some evenings. I should also mention the front desk staff are very helpful and polite. Villas HM Palapas del Mar has two levels of all inclusive but they both include meals and bike usage. We were happy with the regular all-inclusive but the more costly all-inclusive includes meals at the sushi restaurant and more exclusive alcohols. We aren’t big drinkers so the regular level of all-inclusive was great for us. If you want a quiet, beautiful spot, away from it all, where they take good care of you. This is the spot.

Staff support and information very poor

We picked this place because it looked cute with a boho vibe, and it totally delivered. The atmosphere was cozy and thoughtfully designed, and the staff was genuinely great — friendly, helpful, and welcoming from start to finish. It made the whole stay feel easy and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

Very lovely staff, great housekeeping, delicious food. The only thing I'd improve is bike rental, bikes are very rusty. Also moldy chairs in dinning room - I understand there is moisture problem at the island so I didn't mind, but could choose different materials that are not as prone to get moldy. This was our 1st stay at Palapas, but we stayed at Paraiso (sister hotel right next to it) two times and would come back again to either of them. Overall absolutely great value for the price!

Just not pleased with the lack of following the VIP status. No wine or upgrade. Expedia is 50% to blame

Es un hotel super bonito, cómodo y tranquilo. Realmente disfrutas el tiempo aquí lo que hace difícil irse después. El staff es super amable, siempre se preocupan por que estés bien y resuelven tus dudas en cualquier momento. Manuel sobre todo fue de mucha ayuda con recomendaciones y su amabilidad.

Beautiful hotel with tasteful, updated rooms and gorgeous common areas. The lobby is stunning with a massive open palapa roof and abundant 'boho' style furnishings and natural textile accessories. Make sure to take a look at the black and white photo on the wall of the palapa being constructed, it is impressive! Grounds were meticulously kept and staff were all professional and helpful. The landscaping with tropical plants, ensured that all ground floor rooms had ample privacy. Breakfast options were varied and there was the option to have made-to-order eggs (omelettes, huevos rancheros, etc). The beds were comfortable and extra blankets were provided in case you are somebody like me, who needs the heavy blanket even in the tropical climate. Showers were consistently hot, which is something that we have come to discover is rare in Mexican boutique hotels. I loved everything about this hotel and cannot wait to come back!

Room spotless. Mini jacuzzi/pool was a must. Super location. If you want to see the stars in the sky, it is far away from the center of the village and its lights. But close to all the nice beach bars and lounges.

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION This hotel, is located on one of the most beautiful white sand beaches in the Caribbean ! In addition, it’s only a 10-15 minute walk into the main town in Holbox. The entire staff works together to ensure your stay exceeds expectations. Jose, Marie, Mike, Wilbert are the BEST. You gotta visit, you won’t be disappointed.

The beach was very clean and the stay was very nice, will def be coming back.

Overall nice rooms.AC worked great. I went to grab the extra blanket and very quickly decided to not use. It was extremely dirty with some actual spots that looked like blood on the blanket. Very little water pressure in shower. Probably will try another place when return.
