Considering the property is as old as it is it’s in remarkably good condition. Don’t expect the 5 star hotel and you one pleasantly surprised.

This was our second stay at The Ostrich Inn, and it is the perfect place to stay before flying out of Heathrow airport (which is only 5 miles away). The rooms are very clean and comfortable with lots of lovely touches like tea and coffee making supplies, nice toiletries, and a fan for hot weather times. Staff is helpful and friendly. The hotel is full of historic details. We enjoyed pre-dinner drinks out in the garden, and had a great meal in the restaurant. Breakfast the next day was delicious as well. This place is a hidden gem for those who travel through Heathrow!

Great stay ideal location for the airport, only issue was the room was a bit hot in this heat but it would be the same everywhere. Food was excellent, highly recommend!

The only redeeming factors of this stay was that my room was large and I did eat at the pub on my first night and the food was good. Where do I begin. Firstly if you stay in rooms 1-4 then expect to be on the ground floor right next to an incredibly busy road. I was room 3, the main window looked out on to this road so your curtains have to remain shut. However this doesn’t stop the busses and large vehicle notices every couple of minutes. The door to the room is about 6ft from the entrance to the pub, I might as well have tried to sleep at one of the tables at the bar. Pub is open till about 11:30pm so expect constant chat just outside your door. The window to the bathroom opened out to the beer garden where the lovely smell of smoke creeps in now and then. The bed had to be the most uncomfortable thing I have ever slept on. Truly truly awful. One of my pillows had what seemed to be mould on it. I paid £395 for a four night business trip. This is a ridiculous price for what you get. I can sometimes overlook these things if I was able to get a good nights sleep but with all the above this was impossible. I really wish I could get my money back on this because I feel robbed. Almost £100 a night is criminal. AVOID

An amazing historic building. The only problem is that being very old, it is very hot in the bedrooms. But that’s all down to climate change!

Lovely place to stay . Easy walking distance to town sights and restaurants and shops. Great to have the car park too. Good food reasonably prices. Liked being so close to the river to see the birds

Lovrly stay the room was amazing ..king john suite Staff were ok didnt really have much interaction apart from check in I would deffo go back and I do recommend both the hotel and the pub restaurant

Great place to experience a quaint English Village for an overnight before an early flight. And to stay in a historic building that was founded in 1100. Real treat!

Stayed in the King John Suite. Room was spacious and the bathroom was huge. It would be helpful for more outlets but I understand that it’s an old building. Unique to have a pub below and. Ice public transportation near by.

This is my third Stay. I would give it five stars if you had a fan in the room.

This is a very quirky old building! We used this property as an overnight stay prior to a flight and it was just perfect for what we needed, we didn’t arrive until about 9pm so didn’t have food but had a couple of drinks in the bar and very short distance to the airport in the morning. Also unlike some of the chain hotels we looked at there was no fee for overnight parking at the hotel. Would definitely recommend and use this hotel again!
