Overlooking the market square it is well appointed. Staff were very good albeit they wanted an early night and closed the bar at 11p.m. only bar food on Mondays and Tuesdays and that was good. The crumble sweet was delicious. Standard Rooms were adequate. Showers a bit poky. Overall good value.

Very good hotel, highly recommended.

The hotel is in the middle of Middleham and there is easy access to the castle and local areas. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They catered well for my food allergies, which was good as I don't think I would have been able to eat elsewhere in the town. Saying that, I personally wasn't impressed with breakfast but my husband was. Lastly parking was on the street in the market square. We had no problem finding a parking space.

dont like service charge for a pint of beer and it was dear at 6 pound a pint food was good but expensive

We informed the hotel we'd be arriving early as we were attending a wedding, and they very kindly had the room ready for our arrival. The room was clean and had comfortable twin beds, with a gorgeous view over the village square and Middleham Castle. The welcome we received was warm and friendly. Lunch was excellent; highly recommend the Wensleydale Cheese Souffle and Bangers and Mash! Breakfast was also included and was delicious. As someone who has worked in luxury hotels for years, I was very impressed with everything! We'd definitely stay here again when in the area.

Poor experience at the Hotel. 1. door to room very squeaky. 2 shower was very poor, hardly any force in the water. 3 Arrange a meal and ordered Parfait/bread, which was not but Pate, along with the most greasy bread oil was oozing out the bread, returned could not eat. 4. going for breakfast, they need to take off the sausages, as stated Rare breed sausages, not sure what breed but they were horrible, not only confirmed by us but other members staying there. 5. Parking states free, this is not the case, it comes with first there, if you cannot get a parking space, you will have difficulty parking, we arrive NOT at high season, so will be extremely difficult to park anywhere. staff were quite rude too. will not be returning.

Good location on the main square with on street parking. Nice evening meal but overpriced. I think the owner is new and still learning the hospitality trade. Breakfast distinctly average Hotel public rooms have been refurbished, room nice but bathroom still needed a little attention. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Oliver and his small team were excellent. Fully committed to personal, customer faced service. Fantastic breakfast-we loved the beautiful teapot! Great Temple Spa products in the room.

Property looks very tired. Drinks expensive. Staff seemed unorganised at breakfast only 4 tables sitting. Food was ok. Portions average. Room was nice & clean. Tea/coffee facilities in room poor.

The room was clean enough, staff were ok. They were pet friendly as far as pets were allowed in, but I was shocked to have to pay £20 per night for my small dog! They said it was “all the extra cleaning”!? Breakfast better on day 2.

Great staff who were welcoming. Adrian the bar man was particularly knowledgeable about the local area and gave us plenty of tips.

Food both breakfast and evening meal were excellent. All staff were excellent and really wanted the stay to be special for us. The room was good and the pillows were clearly new and helped us sleep. The check in closing at 22.00 might cause a problem to some people and the only other problem was it appeared to be a bit tired in corridors but rooms were fine
