The hotel is an amazing conversion of the old county council offices, so it has character and style as well as the amenities you need. Wonderful food. And it's in the heart of the city with the Wear smoothly wandering by. Love it.

Hotel Indigo is a pleasant hotel in an excellent location for a lovely city. The hotel is a Grade 11 listed building and some of the rooms are dated, well used and a bit shabby. We had a cathedral facing room which had a pleasant view but was very hot on our arrival and took a long time to cool down. The sheets were grubby.

It was so lovely to stay in a hotel with character and history. Beautiful stained glass windows and the dining area adapted from the main council chamber. Delicious breakfast each day with a variety of choices and friendly and welcoming staff

Clean bedroom with styled rooms fitting with Durham's history. Food was beautiful at breakfast and staff were attentive. My partner has celiac and was well catered for his gluten free needs. Lovely late check out as standard. Will visit again

Check in was a bit slow but everything else was excellent. Great location. Good breakfast. The building itself is really interesting
