I was sent to a house down the road from the Buckingham Hotel, by the hotel staff, as that was where the contractors guest house was. Car park was full of fly tipping. No lights in entrance hallway, so was dark. whole house smelt of stale cigarettes, as did the room. The furniture was old and broken. There was a desk , but no chair, coffee making facilities but no Mugs. the cable on the kettle was too short to reach the plug, so kettle had to boiled on the floor. the curtains were ripped, the bed bases were tatty and had old black mould on. I am reporting this to the Council’s environmental health team. nowhere to hang your clothes. the toilet didn’t flush properly and the cistern filled up really slowly and the noise dropped for ages. The heating in room did not work so it was cold, the lights in bathroom were motion sensing, so turn off if you are in the shower, the screen stops you being detected. I called reception to ask about the kitchen, the chap said he would call me back and never did. I was too tired to drive back to the hotel and complain to the staff in person. The worst experience of my life and I have stayed in hotels in third world countries.
