A total hidden gem

Beautiful historic house set in peaceful countryside. The owners and staff were very friendly and attentive. We also booked the Sunday lunch which was delicious and spent the evening sitting by a log fire in a snug room with a cheeseboard and bottle of wine. Our bedroom was stunning. We only had an overnight stay but would love to go back for a longer stay one day.

Do not hesitate to book. Spotlessly clean a huge comfortable bed, huge modern bathroom and very quite. The hosts can not do enough for you, a home from home in a gorgeous building, I stay in alot of hotels all over the country and this is one of the best.

We enjoyed a comfortable stay in a beautiful room with view across the countryside. Our hosts were friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed delicious food which is sourced locally where possible. The chef makes flavourful preserves and chutneys, some of which are served with meals. They are also available to purchase to take home - which we did.

We stayed at Cleatham Hall for one night and ate in the restaurant. The hotel is elegant, comfortable and spotlessly clean. It has an old fasioned feel but things that matter such as the lovely shower and great Wifi are up to date. Food in the restaurant had to be ordered in advance but was delicious I left very relaxed and will definitely return. This is how a small, family owned hotel should be run.

This hotel was a complete surprise and we are so glad we picked it. Situated in beautiful surroundings with exceptional views we settled in to our amazing room. The hosts were unbelievable going above and beyond to make our stay so special. Definitely would come back again. Great job Jim & Kate

We had a great one night stay in the Gainsborough suite. The hotel was clean and the room was magnificent. The owners made us feel at home. The evening meal was delicious and plentiful. Breakfast was local produce.

From the time we arrived the owners Kate and Jim made sure that we were made very welcome and that we were enjoying our stay.The room was luxurious and very nicely decorated.The bed was very comfortable and the rooms shower was fantastic. The hotel had a well stocked and reasonably priced bar. The breakfast was excellent with clearly high quality products being used. We had one evening meal whilst on vacation and again it was good quality food. I cannot praise Kate enough as she goes to great lengths to make sure that your stay is an enjoyable one.
