Room slightly cold as heating not working. Food in the restaurant was good. Could do with fresh juices with breakfast, otherwise good. Interesting property.

Location is glorious and the hotel itself is delightful. The staff are friendly and helpful. The dining room is comfortable with a welcoming atmosphere. The quality of the meals is first class; not flashy nor pretentious just tasty, well-presented and excellent value. Rowton Castle is definitely on our list for a return visit! Highly recommended.

The property is well maintained and retains its character very well. Breakfast was excellent with good options to choose from. The staff were friendly and helpful. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

Had a 2 night stay for my 65th birthday. Very relaxing atmosphere and staff were very helpful especially Lewis who was very knowledgeable and a good asset to the staff. Food was reasonably priced and was ok .

Stayed one night. Food was excellent in the restaurant and a very good breakfast. The staff were lovely. We were up in room 20 which is up two flights of stairs so beware of accessibility.

We stayed in room 17 , the room was decorated in keeping with the theme of the hotel. I was so excited to celebrate my partner’s birthday with at the hotel which I made the staff aware of but nothing was provided to acknowledge this at all. Our room was so cold in the evening and when I told staff they brought us a portable heater. Our bed was whooped on one side. The springs were complete gone. The breakfast and lounge area was the highlight of our stay. It was very good. Overall I would say for the price being charged the hotel needs an upgrade.

Rowton Castle has fabulous house and gardens decorated devinely for Christmas there was some lovely weather for a weekend together too!

The property is a hotel/wedding venue. It’s beautifully decorated. Near to the highway and not far from Strewsbury. Nicely decorated living rooms and outdoor areas to sit in. Nice restaurant.

Fantastic hotel and i will return, but on the two evenings there along with other guests we had to walk to find staff for drinks and there wasnt on numerous occassions anyone on reception. They seemed to congregate in the kitchen area.

Staff and hotel were lovely.. clean quaint cosy and comfortable accommodation.. food and service were excellent and piping hot and extremely good quality.. loved the ambiance and relaxed atmosphere

The staff were lovely with nothing too much trouble. The food was superb in an amazing dining room with proper tablecloths and napkins ! This is a wonderful 800 year old castle with no lift so, if you have walking difficulties, ask for a room on the first floor. The public rooms are magnificent but the bedrooms, while perfectly comfortable, would benefit from being brought up to date. Anyway, all in all a thoroughly enjoyable stay and we shall be sure to return.
