We had the BEST experience in this hotel! Our room was so lovely, we got upgraded to a junior suite and it was just amazing. We had the city view and everything was so clean and perfect. The room has everything you could need, and if they don’t you can ask and they’ll help right away. Mohammed at front desk went above and beyond for us. We were unsure about our itinerary, he reviewed it for us and gave us recommendations and that truly made our trip even more memorable. A lot of local gems we would have missed without his knowledge and expertise. He went above & beyond our expectations. Thank you mohammed & Hotel Stein for an amazing experience in Salzburg. The terrace restaurant was great as well, Sunny & Varun ensured an amazing service during our breakfast. They also shared their recommendations for local hikes and we are very appreciative! I stayed at Hotel Stein Salzburg for five nights, and overall I had a very pleasant experience. The hotel enjoys an exceptional location right in the heart of Salzburg, within walking distance of the old town, the river, shops, cafés, and many of the city’s main attractions. It is truly one of the hotel’s greatest strengths. The staff were consistently courteous, professional, and welcoming throughout my stay. Service was smooth, efficient, and delivered with genuine hospitality. The hotel itself is elegant, clean, and beautifully designed, blending historic character with modern touches in a very tasteful way. My suite was spacious, quiet, and comfortable, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel felt refined and relaxing. Housekeeping was reliable, and the common areas were always well maintained. The only aspect I personally did not enjoy was the restaurant on the sixth floor. After trying it on my first morning, I found that it simply did not suit my taste, particularly because of the strong fish smell that lingered in the area. As a result, I chose to have breakfast at cafés and restaurants elsewhere in Salzburg for the remainder of my stay. That said, my overall impression of Hotel Stein remains positive, and I truly appreciated the quality of the service, the beautiful location, and the warm atmosphere of the hotel.

Great location, friendly and accommodating staff. Lovely rooftop terrace with great views of the river and castle. Good snack and food options, touch pricey but to be expected when you have a venue in the city centre and the only decent rooftop bar. Worth the visit.

Lovely hotel situated in the heart of Salzburg. Short walk to all popular tourist attractions. Very friendly hotel staff. Rooms were renovated and perfect for a short stay. Hotel rooftop restaurant also has amazing views.

The staff of Hotel Stein are exemplary! The rooftop bar is the best in Salzburg. The location is perfect: 15min walk from train station, across the street from 2 bus stops, and across the bridge from Altstadt. Due to its central location and proximity to the main bridge crossing the river, it is a bit noisy. My street-side “city view” room didn’t quiet down until 1am most nights. Bring ear plugs and play white noise because the hotel is worth it.
