Absolutely don’t stay at this hotel if you go to Geneva. I stayed there during the week of the heatwave and the AC was basically not working. I had to go to bed with wet hair and wet clothes to survive and a fan blowing air towards me. Absolute nightmare. I was able to sleep maybe an hour or two out of exhaustion. At check out, I complained to the lady at the reception, who followed up with a “sorry”. That’s it. $800+ for a “””5*””” hotel room and a “sorry” you couldn’t sleep because the AC is poor. I had to run to the airport so I left it there and then contacted the Orbitz customer support to pick up the case - while the customer support team at Orbitz was helpful, the hotel refused to issue any form of refund or compensation, which is what typically hotels do when the service they provide is not up to standards they advertise and you pay for. Absolutely disappointed. Avoid if you want to have a nice stay in a lovely city like Geneva. Other points: - the hotel is old and quirky inside, some people might like it, I personally didn’t. - the WiFi was not working from my bed. - I’ve been to two other hotels in Geneva during the same heatwave and never had an issue with AC like in this one. So be careful when you choose.

Accessible to most of the famous landmarks like the waterfront, Geneva lake, shopping centre, flower garden clock, The Old Town and St Pierre Cathedral. Restaurants are nearby including the hotel, starbucks is just accross it. Great staff, very helpful and very nice! Very spacious and clean rooms. We have a 2 and a half bathrooms! It's a five star hotel so what else can you ask for?! Comfort and convinience is always a must for me so it's worth spending every penny! Highly recommended! BTW, The Broken Chair and The United Nation are both walking distance. The weather favored us and it's nice walking! So we had so much fun exploring the city of Geneva! And on our way back to the hotel, we get to use our complimentary Geneva Transport(provided by the hotel which they automatically emailed me), so systematic. At check out, taxi is already waiting and the staff helped us also load our luggages. Overall, we really had a very relaxing family bonding in Geneva! Our stay in the hotel made a huge significance to achieve our goal! Thank you to the staff of Hotel de la Cigogne for being so pleasant and very helpful!

It’s a charming hotel with an excellent location for restaurants and good shopping, very close to the lake and all transport. As it’s a small hotel in an old building, its facilities are very limited: just a restaurant and terrace which provides all-day decent dining, good value and good service.there is neither a gym nor a pool. The room Amenities are very good. The staff is all helpful and friendly. It has a sister hotel right next door which is bigger, with a good Lebanese restaurant that has a spacious balcony extension space, good service and reasonable prices.

The room that we were given was dark with little natural light. However, the main issue was the bathroom. When I booked this hotel on Expedia I thought I had booked a room with a shower/bath as advertised. Unfortunately this was not the case. All it had was a hand held shower. In addition, there was no shower curtain/screen, so the water would go all over the floor making it a health hazard. We could easily have slipped and hurt ourselves especially as the bath was so high I had to help my wife get in and out of it and she in turn had to help me due to my medical conditions. When I told the reception clerk about this he seemed rather flippant and said the cleaner would mop the bathroom floor. Not quite the attitude one would expect.

Perfect location. Lovely lobby. Room condition was dated - needs a renovation and design work. Check-in staff were wonderful!

Really enjoyed the one night there. Terrific location. Staff very helpful on what was an early arrival and helping fix some plans that went sideways. Small drawback to what was a generously sized, clean and nicely appointed room was the inside stairway down to the room (old European building!) of about 15 steepish steps. OK for us, though a chore to take luggage back up on departure.
