Great hotel, like traveling back in time to Meiji era, beautiful turn if the century antiques, very convenient to Arita Pottery Fair

Exceptional Service and Charm. The property is well-kept for its age. What makes this place special is the atmosphere; it is filled with traditional memory items that give it a unique and nostalgic charm. The most remarkable aspect of our stay was the staff. Their helpfulness and friendliness were top-notch — They made our trip more enjoyable and smooth.

Old fashioned Japanese hotel, but clean environment. Free coffee on arrival and light breakfast was offered. Open air onsen was very nice Only issue was, there was no toilet inside the room which things a bit interesting at night when the human nature was calling. Otherwise lovely hotel with friendly staff

The Ryokan was very old and nothing in the area other than osen. Suitable for those who have cars.

The staff were very friendly and let me park my bike in front of the hotel for free. The lobby was full of interesting furniture and instruments so it had a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately my room smelled like a barn. I live in a house with tatami so I am used to the smell of tatami, but the smell in this room was overpowering. The toilet was noisy for a long time after a flush because water pressure for the room was low and it took a long time to refill the tank. The sink was also only giving a trickle. The onsen facility was well kept though.

The hotel feels dated and is in need of a revamp. The onsen space, while appreciated, was quite small and lacked the relaxing ambiance one would expect. Additionally, the water pressure at the bathing area was poor. Overall, the experience didn’t live up to expectations

The Takeo Onsen Kyotoya is a traditional Japanese hotel. I wanted the tatami mat and futon experience and this property exceeded my expectations. I enjoy the older style of hotel as the nostalgia of the experience is valuable to me. The room and bath were well appointed and very comfortable. My room had a great view of an interesting rock formation on the top of a mountain nearby. The location is within a 10 minute easy flat and wide walk from the station. When you get to the family mart you are almost there.

Staff is super nice. The property is old and could use updating. The carpets are worn and walls need painting etc. The rooms are great.

Very nice Ryokan, old school feeling and very attentive staff. Rooms are spacious and nice. The only problem was the water pressure, it was so bad that the shower wouldn't work properly... very hard to clean in the morning.

An old charm of a hotel. Check in was easy and fast. Nice collection of art and antiques.

Hotel staff worked hard to make us enjoy the stay. Dinner and breakfast were excellent and services during meals were outstanding. The only con was we stayed in a smoking room. Recommend reserving non-smoking room when making reservations.

It was an amazing hotel, where all the staff are very friendly. First greeted by English (didn't expect that from local Japan). Then, once the staff knew I didn't drive, they offered to drive me to train station due to the hot weather. They are very thoughtful. Definitely will stay again

Cute hotel with an odd blend of European and Asian decor. a little old and run down in parts but still comfortable and in good location. Great bathing areas, both indoor & outdoor as well as steam room. food was really good, great variety and just the right amount.

The hotel looked old and in need of renovation. Basic food and onsen facilities. My room had a fishy smell and a dark entrance hallway. Will not recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday. Only plus side was that they accepted bookings for single travellers.

とっても丁寧な対応で、気持ちが良かったです。人手不足なのか、外国人の対応でしたが、しっかりと日本語もマスターされていて、何も問題ありませんでした。

武雄温泉駅の近く。 設備(部屋・お風呂)は少し古さを感じる。 ロビーの内装・家具、館内全体の「大正」の雰囲気は良いと思う。 ウェルカムドリンクや、朝食の軽食(パン・サラダ・飲み物)のサービスはとてもうれしい。

昭和レトロな雰囲気で素敵なお部屋でした。 朝食もセルフサービスでパンとサラダ日替わりのスープ付きでした。 スタッフの対応も良くて大満足です。 また使いたいと思いました。
