Great hotel next to a shopping center.

Esta propiedad es todo lo que uno necesita para unas vacaciones. Es todo en uno. Lo más sobresaliente es el servicio al cliente desde el Lobby hasta los que te sirven el desayuno. Lo recomiendo!

This was our second time at Novotel El Tesoro in Medellín, but sadly, it will be our last. The experience was disappointing from the very beginning. Our room had old, stiff towels and a poorly designed bathroom where water spilled everywhere due to an overly short shower curtain, making every shower uncomfortable. When we requested a room change, we were told it was only possible by paying nearly 300,000 COP extra per night, even though the rooms were supposedly identical, just on a different floor. The next day, we tried to extend our stay for one more night for a very important family reason (accompanying my 90-year-old father-in-law to early morning medical exams). Reception told us there was no availability, even though Expedia showed several rooms available at reasonable prices. When we mentioned this, staff said Expedia was “overbooked” and that the only option was to pay 4 million COP for two nights (about $1,000 USD), which was completely unreasonable, especially since online rates were still showing for less than half. In the end, we had to move to NH Collection Medellín, where we got a spectacular suite for $426 USD for two nights — a huge difference in quality and service. When we spoke with the Novotel manager, he apologized, but by then it was too late: we had already been forced to find another solution on our own. Sadly, we cannot return to or recommend Novotel El Tesoro after this experience. Medellín is known for its kindness and warmth, but not here.

At check-in we were advised that the breakfast was not included even though we added it when we made the reservation. That was unexpected, separate additional charge. Other than that it was a great the accommodations.

Water doesn't come out of the sink for brushing and shaving. There is no proper flow of water; it comes out as a sprinkle. The bath towels provided were very thin and smelled terrible. It is so hard to use them to wipe the face and body. No small towels or paper tissue boxes were provided. The stay was not good.

This hotel is excellent. It’s location next to one of the best malls in Medellin, makes it a gem.

5 Stars – Exceptional Stay at Novotel Medellín! From the moment I arrived at Novotel Medellín, I was impressed by the sleek, modern design and the warm hospitality from the staff. The check-in process was smooth and professional, and I felt genuinely welcomed. My room was spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully designed with modern touches and a comfortable bed that made it easy to relax after a long day of exploring the city. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable—perfect for both work and streaming. One of the highlights was the breakfast buffet: a fresh, delicious spread of local fruits, pastries, eggs, and Colombian coffee that’s hard to beat. The on-site restaurant also serves great meals throughout the day, with excellent service and a relaxing ambiance. The location is perfect—close to El Poblado and within walking distance of great restaurants, shops, and nightlife, yet quiet enough for a restful night’s sleep. I also loved the rooftop pool and fitness center, both of which offered amazing views of the city and mountains. Whether you're visiting Medellín for business or leisure, Novotel hits the sweet spot between comfort, style, and value. I will definitely be returning—and recommending it to friends and family.
