This is my second stay at The Wayang. First, in a superior room on the second floor, and last week, in a family room on the second floor. TOP, clean, quiet, and the best service. Close to everywhere, there's Warung Mbah Buyut, Maga Supermarket, Tempo Gelato, and Lariz—everything is great. The manager, sorry, but it's time to renovate the beds in the family rooms. They're already fitted. Otherwise, they're top-notch. Don't hesitate to stay here.

Very disappointed!! with the current Wayang Homestay. From 2012 to 2015, I recommended this place for family and work (I even booked many for colleagues from Jakarta). Now, in 2025, I'm back with the same hopes. But everything has changed. The staff seems to have no ethics, manners, or friendliness that reflects the welcoming culture of Yogyakarta. 1. There was no tolerance at all from the homestay guard during check-out. 2. The door was forced open while my daughter and wife were in the room (getting dressed). 3. All my belongings were forcibly removed and taken out. 4. While I was praying the Dhuhur prayer, I was waited at the door as if my heart had been blinded. 5. Even when it was raining heavily, the guard told me to leave immediately. 5. I felt like I was being chased away. 6. If I had to be charged, I would have paid. Asked nicely. But not if my self-respect and confidence were taken away. Homestay owner! Where is the culture and friendliness of the good Wayang Homestay Jogja?

The homestay caretaker was very friendly and accommodating. Motorcycle parking is outside, but at night the caretaker arranges parking inside. There's also free breakfast. It's top-notch.
