My first stay at Batu Pahat. Ambiance/Facilities: Gym and swimming pool provided, but not well-maintained. The pool is only for adults, not suitable for kids. Staff Assistance: Check-in and check-out process was very smooth. The staff were also very polite and helpful. Highlights: One of the best hotels in Batu Pahat. Price: The price is cheap compared to the room condition. Location: The hotel is strategically located in the CBD. Easy access to anywhere.

Outdated facilities with a lack of proper maintenance. Limited parking space

Staff are very kind and friendly, especially the doorman named Aiman. The room is excellent, and the breakfast is good.

The sound isolation was very bad, the exhaust sound from outside was clearly heard, which disturbed the sleeping quality. A toothbrush was not provided. It was a double king room, but only one set of shampoo was provided, which is a little bit expensive compared to the things provided. Overall, it was okay.

Convenient location and easy access to amenities

The first time I visited Batu Pahat (BP) well over a decade ago, I stayed at The Katerina. While I have returned to BP a few times since then, either staying at other hotels in BP or just passing through, this was only my 2nd stay at The Katerina. The parking area was just I remembered. I couldn't remember how the lobby or room looked like then, but hotel lobby now has a whiff of grandeur with a bit of age mixed in. The room has a central panel on the side table between the beds that controls all the light switches except the bathroom's. After a good 5 minutes of exploration, I found it at the key card slot, as shown in the photo. There's a bathtub and an old-fashion shower head. The desired water temperature gushes out of the shower head within 2 seconds. The breakfast spread is decent at best and all too soon, it's time to check out and join the rat race again.

Comfort stay with affordable price. Access to pool just through one lift at the back of the building tu je yg quite scary sikit. Overall bersih, selesa, affordable

Toilet fixture are run down and dirty. Bath tub drainage water flow slow,almost like choke

Hotel staff pay zero attention to remarks, room. Hygiene so so, 2 power socket faulty. Bathtub condition is terrible as shown. No basic toiletries available in room. Air-conditioning was very strong though.

The hotel staff was very helpful. But the room was old and some part was dusty and there is no toothbrush provided.

Breakfast add RM15/pax, only serve a plate of nasi lemak & piece of watermelon. No buffet.

The management did their best to maintain excellent 5-star service despite the cutbacks brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic. A poster, or rather a replica of the world map by early European travelers, adorns the the wall of the main reception desk. The management ought to brief the staff the significance of the treasured piece, understand and be able to inform curious patrons how the details can be interpreted. Or else it will just be another piece of insignificant wallpaper.

Exciting experience. From the room we can see the view of the northern area of Batu Pahat. The swimming pool was simple but the kids had a lot of fun.
