We stayed here a couple of times over the last week as part of the coastal walk around the outside of the Isle of Wight.
It’s a great location in town and the rooms are pretty comfortable.
We had one brief strange encounter when we first walked in because an older bald guy in the bar was staring at us quite menacingly (for a long time lol) but that’s not The Union staff’s fault and we actually found it pretty funny. No harm done and it gave us something to laugh at to be honest.
The rooms are comfortable and have everything you need including a coffee machine etc. The main car park for town is around the corner so it’s pretty easy for access.
Breakfast was really nice too. On the first day we were served by a very sweet and polite lady and we all had the full English breakfast which was perfect for a 20 mile walking day. On the second day just before leaving we were served by a guy who we assume was the owner and he was the same, really good service and seemed like a good bloke.
Overall it was very good value for money and would happily recommend the place. Certainly not massive rooms but still very good for the price and location we thought.
We stayed at 5 places on the Isle of Wight and I only really ever review good ones that I would be happy to return to.
