I have stayed in many hotels and pubs over the years. However, I can honestly say that this is the BEST pub B and B I’ve ever experienced. The location is fantastic, with stunning views and many footpaths to other nearby local pubs and villages. The food was superb, great selection and everything we had tasted fantastic. The room was well appointed , clean , comfortable and really cosy. Most of all the staff were fantastic. We felt at home and looked but without any pressure or with them being over bearing. Simply a fantastic weekend experience. We cant recommend highly enough.

One of the best meals we’ve had! We can’t stop talking about how good the food was at The Barrel Inn. We were staying nearby and our host recommended, we were not disappointed. Highly recommended the Sausage with bubble and squeak! Only thing to note is that they don’t allow dogs. Not an issue but worth knowing for those travelling with them! We’ll definitely be back!

Our overnight stay at the Barrel Inn was really, really good. Everything from pleasant, very welcoming, staff, excellent food, warm, comfortable and well appointed room made the visit worthwhile. The scenery around was quite striking and I would imagine that in the summer it is even more beautiful. We will certainly go back to this venue.

FOH are always friendly and welcoming even when a sweaty boy wearing lycra waltzes on into the formal dining area asking for water & snacks (myself). Finally got to visit today for food (not just KP peanuts this time!!), and can say the food matches the hospitality, absolutely top stuff. Lovely atmosphere and overall experience, felt miles ahead of your typical Pub/Inn, though still with all the warmth.

Friendly, welcoming staff throughout our stay. Beautiful location, lovely comfortable rooms. A peaceful, quiet location with amazing views and walks from the inn. Fantastic home made food too- they really made an effort to make meals special and as you want it. A thoroughally enjoyable stay.
