Very easy check in and excellent staff. Location is right in town which is perfect if travelling without a vehicle. Room was on the second floor, there is a small elevator which is good to use when hauling luggage on the first and last day, but stairs are wide and not steep if you’re looking to get steps in! Room was a good size - I booked a single room - and had a good sized bathroom. TV and towel rail weren’t working - mentioned to the staff and they moved me to a new room really quickly and with no fuss (12/10 customer service!!). New room had bigger bed too! Breakfast was good, had both made to order and buffet food was OK. Conditions of the hotel overall was fair it is an older building so shows signs of wear and tear. Window in the second room didn’t close tightly but the amazing heavy curtains kept any potential drafts away! There is parking around the hotel, and I believe they have a parking area at the back. It’s very congested and parking spots especially at the front are usually full. Hereford cathedral it’s right across from the hotel (about a min walk) and well worth a visit. There are shopping and restaurants all around with a variety of food available from snacks to good dining. Prices do vary but are not extravagant. Hotel also has a good restaurant.

The room was freezing. There was no heating - there was an electric heater plugged in but this didn’t work because none of the plug sockets for regular UK plugs had any power (which also meant I couldn’t dry my hair in the morning and my phone failed to charge overnight). I woke up because I was so cold even with a jumper and thick socks on - it was January and zero degrees outside! In the shower, the water was warm but not hot, but the bigger issue was the lack of water pressure. There was a very weak flow which completely stopped after a few minutes (luckily after I’d rinsed out my shampoo!).

Our room had 2 radiators, neither of which was working, however there was a hot air blower. The temperature of the water in the bathroom was tepid at best, we had to boil a kettle for shaving.

Check in took a little longer due to issue with computer system, otherwise very good

The Hotel, room and breakfast itself were great. However I am very disappointed by the Hotels handling of a recent Data Breach in which my booking, phone number and name were hacked and leaked and then used as part of a WhatsApp scam. The lady with glasses at check-in was very unhelpful and rude when I enquired about how and when the Hotel would contact me about the data breach. The hotel still hasn't contacted me with the details so I have no other option but to report it to the ICO. I cannot recommend this hotel based on this and how the staff treated me when I asked about this data breach.

Nice comfortable room although having WiFi code in rooms would be helpful as there are no internal phones in rooms . Very central to everything you need . The restaurant closed due to a private party / wedding so we ate in the book shop out the back of the hotel .

Mouldy windows. Leaky ceiling very dirty stained net curtains. Dust everywhere. Breakfast had to be booked we booke 9am not one person in restaurant and clearly the food had been around a while

Good to stay at a traditional English hotel. Luxury room definitely worth the upgrade. More space and a desk and a view.

An enjoyable experience overall. Food and wine in particular was overpriced. Bedroom furniture was of a poor quality, although the bed was very comfortable. Toiletries weren't adequate for one person, let alone two. Bar area was lovely and very inviting.

The room was very cold, the radiator was not getting hot, so they had put an electric oil filled heater in the room which did not warm up the room enough. Also no heating in the bathroom and electric towel rail did not work.

We had room only so no breakfast in the hotel but there were nearby places which were good. Room was comfortable and enough space for opening cases (a pet hate if I can't). Bathroom was OK - shower in bath. Location was excellent. Carpark is across the road from the back of the hotel - seemed safe and enough spaces for clientelle.

I stay at the green dragon fairly frequently. The staff are always really helps, friendly and welcoming and the beds are super comfy. It's right in the centre of town and family run so has more character to it than a chain. I always enjoy staying there.
