We had a fantastic stay at Clayhanger Guest House. From start to finish, the whole booking process was smooth and stress‑free. Thank you so much for accommodating my daughter and me at short notice, especially after we cancelled our previous accommodation due to negative safety reviews. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There was a little traffic noise, as expected from being on a main road, but it didn’t bother us at all. Breakfast was plentiful, with a great selection of cereals, yogurts, toast, scrambled eggs and a lovely croissant. The location was ideal too — within easy reach of the Regent Theatre with the convenient bus links to Hanley, and other to Newcastle‑under‑Lyme and connections to Stoke‑on‑Trent. Overall, I cannot fault this guest house. A wonderful stay and highly recommended.

Lovely, spacious, clean and tidy room with tea and coffee making facilities, small fridge, cotton pads for make up removal, lovely soft towels. Large bathroom with fantastic shower facility. Very friendly and accommodating host who is always ready to answer any questions. Would definitely recommend! Also, close to the town centre

Absolutely disgusting got threatened by a man because he he paid for the pool table, which then he grabbed my vape and I asked for it back he said no which then proceeded to cause an argument because obviously I don’t know who the man is so I wanted my vape back before he had a go and then the security guards coming over, but then he started to get into my face and telling me that he was going to smash my teeth and smash my face in which then obviously I told him to go ahead then I got dragged out and told to stay outside while they looked over CCTV which they didn’t then the manager come out and told me that it was my fault which them someone else screamed something unkind and was blamed on me which then the other bloke came out and blamed me. Saying I had to much to drink the manager didn’t even want to hear what I had to say because this other man was a “regular” and put money in there pocket highly suggest staying away from this place as they rather keep money in pocket then keep women safe which then he came outside and threatened me again which then my mum got involved and the manager just walked off as she couldn’t give two shits. Disgusting behaviour and inappropriate. Which is when the small blonde lady (staff member) came out and told me we would of been let back in if someone didn’t swear at us which wasn’t our group again couldn’t be bothered to listen to us highly unprofessional and disgusting behaviour.

Great location within easy walking distance of the centre and the local amenities, the people running the place are lovely. Everything was very clean, and it was handy having the wash hand basin in the bedrooms, as the single rooms had no en-suite. There's a separate lounge and breakfast room. The Continental breakfast had a good selection, including cereials, orange juice, filter coffee made to order scrambled eggs, and toast, etc Parking wasn't an issue, as there is free timed on street parking at the front and private parking to the rear. I stayed twice on separate occasions [room 2 and 3), and though everything was spotlessly clean, if I was being picky the rooms do need a little basic maintenance with a cracked mirror and staining on the wall in room 2 and staining on the ceiling in room 3. I would recommend and stay again.

Last week I stayed in this guest house and really liked it. It is very clean, comfortable and cosy. Katherine is wonderful and will accommodate all your requests. Breakfast has a good choice of food. I would recommend to book directly with them as they will include a breakfast in your booking. I will be definitely back to this place again.
