A beautiful and convenient final stop before heading back toward Reykjavík. This was one of the larger hotels we stayed in, but it still felt clean, welcoming, and well-managed.
The front desk staff were kind and accommodating, offering coffee/tea while we waited and checking on our room status.
Our room was clean and comfortable with spectacular views of the mountains and ocean. While slightly more dated (particularly the carpeting), it was still a pleasant stay overall.
This was the night we finally experienced the Aurora Borealis—an unforgettable ending to the trip. While faint to the naked eye, they appeared beautifully through phone photos, and we could still see wispy, ribbon-like formations in the sky.The hotel is also well-located—about 2.5 hours from Reykjavík and close to Vik. We explored the town, dined at The Soup Company, and my family enjoyed the Icelandic Lava Show, which they said was incredibly informative.
Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety and unbeatable views. A scenic, relaxing, and fitting end to an incredible trip.
