Great value for money, lovely staff, best steak pie I've had. Large clean room, tea and coffee facilities. Shower gel, soap all provided. Lovely stay. Rooms on higher floors would be difficult if you haver difficulties with stairs. No lift at premises. Update, I always wear ear plugs, wasn't until later i discovered wife had a disturbed night due to the town clock chiming every half hour. Our room window was open for ventilation, so perhaps should have closed it. It wasn't a problem for me, but something to consider.

We initially stopped for a pint, but had such a warm welcome we stayed for food! Boy are we glad we did. Service was excellent, staff ready friendly (they love pooches) food quality and portions fab! Would recommend in a heartbeat the hot beef baguette....wow in a nice way . Am sure it won't be our last time here if passing again.

Stayed 2 nights while walking across Wales. Excellent staff - Kelly behind the bar was great, and also Wendy and Jane who sorted breakfast cheerfully. Great value, big portions. Room bathroom seems newer and done well, but overall rooms and carpet thruout somewhat dated and faded. Would stay again.

The young lady over the counter was polite. The low review is because we came over from another town to try the RED LION, but when we arrived we tried this one too, and oh boy. The grilled fish was actually boiled, and smelled fishy and not fresh. Tasted disgusting. The salad was sub-par, looked old, and the only thing we ended up eating was the chips. Didn’t use their rooms or anything, came over for some grub and left feeling ripped off. The food smelled and tasted as bad as it looked. There were some budget cuts and the Cod was replaced with Hake, but that doesn’t excuse making trash food and ripping people off doing it.

A very popular cosy pub that offers an excellent service, good food and a variety of drinks. Even though this pub is busy, the service is excellent!
