We really enjoyed our overall experience at the Garrison, the room that we had was very warm and cosy, with a super clean bathroom and rainfall shower. The two women from reception who we interacted with were both very pleasant to talk to. The only thing that stops my review from being 5 stars was the fact that the restaurant was closed for renovations - breakfast was brought to our room in bags. It was nice being able to choose our order from a small menu (and choose what time to have it brought to the room) but the food quality definitely could've been better.

We visited as a family for 4 nights during Feb , which is off peak season. Booked a 2 bed apartment which is on the road behind the actual hotel. Not very clear on the site used for booking. After booking , some days later we received an email warning us of construction works and noise taking place. Turns out they are building an extension between the hotel and the apartment unit. Anyways all went smoothly and upon arrival at our place there was a modern apartment freshly decorated Issue being that they had used a strong oil based paint and the smell was terrible so we had to request a move and was told , it was painted a week ago!!! I guess none of the staff had been there recently to check if it was habitable. We were offered a room in the main building with sofa bed for our son which we made work , excluding the paint smell. My wife did hear another guest also complaining about the paint smell 2 days later. There was sign in the lift saying breakfast was available but the area for this seemed to be closed. The construction workers were not present at weekend so all good , but weekdays they arrived and started playing the radio at full blast from 7am this then meant that everyone was awake. Guess that when the works are completed it will be a suitable place to spend your time , being very central to the Fort William high street with several places to visit for food and drinks within a short walk , price was reasonable , although parking at the main hotel was restricted to a small number of parking places. Apartments had suffient parking spots for the number of available suites.

Love the urban chic and concept of the hotel. Tablet check in took forever, and was off putting, although there are staff behind the desk right in front of you. Other guests found it annoying also. Maybe they could arrange for guests to book in on line at their own convenience prior to their stay. Heating didn't come on until 6pm, but that was more than adequate and toasty. There is a notice in the bathroom to ask you to put a towel in front of the shower door to stop water going on to the carpet, so just be careful with that. If you're the sort of person that likes cupboards, you wont find one, but that wasn't a problem for me personally. I couldn't get an terrestrial tv channels, but logged into Netflix from my account. You'll need to pay just over £10.00 for parking in a car park about 4-5 minutes walk away, although the hotel looks like they are extending the exsisting car park, it's just not ideal if it's bucketing down with rain. The building works start at around 8am. All in all, I enjoyed my stay, comfy bed and great shower Brekkie was ok too. I,d stay again for sure

There's a lot I liked about the Garrison but a few things where it fell a little short. Check-in process was simple. This was via a self-service screen but a member of staff was on-hand to assist and answer questions. The bathroom had a couple of strange features. Despite some impressively weighty towels, there were two rather lightweight towel rails, one of which I wasn't surprised to see was loose. It did seem there was also a light missing/broken in the shower area as it was very dark and there was a switch that seemingly did nothing. It was great to have some decent snacks and drinks in the room. After finishing the WHW, it was good to be able to refuel a bit without having to immediately go in search of food. I didn't get to experience the breakfast as although it was included in my room rate, I had early starts both mornings during my stay.

We had a wonderful stay in Fort William, and I have to share how incredibly thoughtful the team here was. A few nights earlier in our trip we had stayed at the beautiful Laggan Hotel, where we were lucky enough to meet Carly and her husband, who runs this hotel in Fort William (sorry we forget your name!). We mentioned we would be continuing our honeymoon here later in the week, and when we arrived we were completely blown away. We had been upgraded to a gorgeous suite, and the room was waiting for us with champagne and snacks — all complimentary. It was such an unexpected and thoughtful surprise after a long day of travelling. It’s rare to see that level of care and coordination between properties, and it made us feel incredibly welcomed and looked after. Small gestures like this truly make a trip unforgettable. Thank you for such a warm welcome to Fort William. We will always remember it and would happily recommend staying here to anyone visiting the area.
