Excellent location, great rooms. Superb staff. Amazing atmosphere.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel. Our room was absolutely stunning, and the property itself is beautiful. Housekeeping was exceptional, servicing our room twice a day and keeping everything immaculate. The staff were incredibly warm and friendly throughout our stay. Before we even arrived, the concierge went above and beyond by helping us arrange a Champagne wine tasting, which made planning our trip so much easier. Our overall experience was exceptional, and I would absolutely stay here again. My only caution is to be mindful of room location. Our room overlooked the street facing event space, and on Saturday evening there appeared to be a wedding or celebration that was quite loud. If you’re a light sleeper or prefer a quieter room, I’d recommend requesting one away from the event area. Other than that, it was a fantastic stay, and I highly recommend this hotel.

The air on when we arrived did not work very well but was soon fixed. Breakfast was not great at all..

The hotel is very beautiful but the room we had with the terrace on the 4th floor is extremely creaky. The wooden floors definitely need updating especially for a 5 star hotel. If the rooms could be updated that would make it 5 stars. The bathroom was clean and modern and the breakfast buffet was decent.

The highlight of our stay was Henri at the front desk. From the moment we arrived, he went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful experience. He helped us with our accommodations, train tickets, restaurant reservations, and every other request with efficiency and genuine kindness. Henri's professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail exemplify outstanding hospitality. He made us feel truly welcomed and cared for throughout our stay. Without a doubt, he was the best part of our experience at the hotel. Thank you, Henri, for making our visit so memorable!

Great location. Beautiful old world charm. Room was huge with alot of character and really good air-conditioning. Cannot fault the room with good TV and nice size bathroom. From ceilings were very high and were beautifully pressed and moulded to match the walls. So charming. Would def saty here again.

The hotel is in a lovely area of Paris, and it’s a charming, quaint property. The staff were warm, welcoming, and very responsive throughout our stay. My only disappointment was that the room wasn’t quite what I expected based on the photos. We had booked a Junior Suite, and the images showed features like a fireplace and a sitting area with a couch, but our room didn’t include those. The staff explained that they have several different styles of Junior Suites, and unfortunately no other rooms were available. That said, we had just arrived from Las Vegas and were only staying for one night, so we were far too tired to make an issue of it. The room was clean, comfortable, and we slept very well. I would happily stay here again, but next time I would contact the hotel in advance to confirm the specific style of room I’d be receiving.

This is a charming hotel. It's not exactly what I was expecting when I booked, but was different, not dissapointing. It's authentically French and we enjoyed our stay. We got to meet the owner of the hotel and have some nice conversations. The staff is lovely.

The breakfast was amazing and the property was very interesting with a lot of family history. The location was excellent for eating and shopping. We felt very safe and welcomed as if you were staying with a family.

AC doesn’t really work and at this price point I expected more. When I asked for help with the AC front desk asked if I tried opening the window. Room was basic and pretty outdated. Won’t stay here again at these prices.

We enjoyed our stay here and the staff were excellent.

Very very rude owner of the hotel. Really wouldn’t recommend staying here. The property is very old so you will be kept awake constantly by other guests upstairs and to the side of you. There has been no investment in sound proofing at all making it totally inappropriate for a peaceful stay. If you stay at the back of the hotel; for extra money the owner rents the garden out for parties, so you will have to stay in your room while there is excruciatingly loud music outside (so loud you cannot think) and you will need to keep your curtains closed as people can see directly into your room. (DM to see videos). The breakfast is horrible. The standards have dropped. The owner of the hotel is very tight with money and has put prices up for a way worse standard of stay. For the ridiculous price you can get so much better in Paris! This is not a luxury hotel, it’s far from it. I will never stay here again.

Hot days in Paris and the AC unit did not operator correctly in our room. We told staff every day and sometimes many times. They did not fix the problem. We slept so bad!

The room was very small for two people and the facilities in the room were at the level of 3 or 4 star hotels, not for a 5 star hotel.

This is my second time staying at Hôtel Alfred Sommier, and it remains one of the most charming hotels I’ve experienced in Paris. It has the atmosphere of a private château tucked into the city - elegant, intimate, and full of character - while still feeling distinctly Parisian rather than overly formal or staged. The location is excellent: quiet yet central, within walking distance of many of Paris’ most beautiful areas. The rooms are refined and comfortable, and the overall design preserves the historical soul of the building without sacrificing modern comfort. What stands out most is the feeling of calm and understated luxury. After busy days in Paris, returning to the hotel genuinely feels relaxing. The staff were professional and welcoming throughout my stay. I would absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to travelers looking for something more personal and atmospheric than a standard luxury hotel.
