I genuinely wanted to love The Bodrum EDITION, it was my top choice and came highly recommended. Sadly, it was one of the most disappointing luxury stays I've had.
The WiFi was down for over a day. I tried my phone, laptop and tablet and none would connect, which badly disrupted urgent work meetings. Staff first blamed my devices, then discovered they'd registered my name incorrectly.
Service was painfully slow and clearly understaffed. We waited nearly an hour for eggs at breakfast, over 20 minutes at the pool with no towels or water, and at times an hour just to get a glass of water, at one point 1–2 staff for ~30 guests poolside. It's not the team's fault; there simply aren't enough of them.
Food quality was well below what this price point demands, and on one occasion it left me feeling unwell. The room didn't match the premium EDITION standard either.
When I raised all this and asked to shorten my stay, management declined any refund and offered no goodwill for the three nights I lost to illness at the start. A suite upgrade was offered late on, but the problems were cumulative by then and we chose to move to the Mandarin Oriental instead.
For a five-star price, this fell well short. I left genuinely disappointed.
