Had a very comfortable stay. Staff worked hard and were super helpful. We ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious

Our room was upgraded – thankfully. It was quite comfortable and plenty of hot water we had dinner in the hotel one night which was dreadful and breakfast in the morning. We waited nearly an hour for our cook cooked breakfast to come along. Very poor.

Food was awful they couldn’t cook steaks! Breakfast took eighty minutes from arrival to end Carpets in hallways were dirty and stained The mattress was smaller than the bed base The hotel clearly lacks good management

Very friendly and helpful staff and check-in process quick and easy. Booked a deluxe twin room and wax given a lsrge room with two double beds. Great English breakfast with lots of choice. The only small criticism would be no bin in the bathroom, and the bathroom was a bit tired. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely hotel in a lovely and convenient location. Upgraded my room and no complaints with it, comfy large bed and large shower area. The only big disappointment I had was that I was charged more for my drinks (beer) than the local's were charged. Originally thought I’d imagined it but I directly followed a customer coming in who spoke on first name terms to the barman, his draught beer was £5.40, mine was £6.00, as was my identical earlier one. After that I decided not to eat in the restaurant and went for a Deliveroo as a matter of principle. Never known this to happen before. Saying all that would recommend the hotel and location and would have no problem staying again.

Friendly clean and comfortable. Just a few small things, needed two bedside lights there was only one, and a small table in bathroom, which was lovely and large but no where to put toiletries.

I booked this at very last minute. Nice quiet spot, staff really friendly and helpful. BedRooms are a bit dated, but in good order, (no TV remote tho!!) Food was nice at the bar, buffet breakfast was nice too. Not a bad find.

The food and staff service was excellent. The location was quiet and quaint, just a 5 minute walk to the River Thames. A great atmosphere in the sunny bear garden. However, our room and ensuite look tired and need refurbishment. Some areas of the dining room were very dusty such as the coffee machine and jam dispensers.

Thoroughly enjoyable stay. Excellent accommodation, very good sized room with lovely views of the garden to the rear. Friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast offering and dinner was really good. Fabulous building in a lovely village setting.

Staff were great. Room was good apart from a window that didn’t seal - lets in wind water and noise.

The expensive rooms are lovely(i have stayed here many times). However, this time i went for a "cheap" room, still over £80, no cupboard space, ironing board out, floors swept but needed scrubbing, very little space, not a particularly comfortable bed, bathroom very average. I was just expecting better.

Room was good size, large comfy bed, but that's the positives. First impression not great with the door handle hanging off, the last occupants left long hairs all over the floor, the shower was very tired with literally no pressure, all in all very tired property that needs renovating. Breakfast was a buffet for full English, why have a menu?, no beans, no eggs, and we were down at 9.30am when service was until 10.30am. Won't be staying again if in that area, pay a little more and stay in Marlow if that's your plan.

We stayed 4 nights. After a poor standard Classic room (32) on our first night (cleanliness issue), we were moved to the Bridal Suite for our 2nd night and we were told our first night was being refunded. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. On the back of that, we booked another 2 nights and were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a Luxury room (Room 17). Beds in all the rooms were comfortable and the rooms provided all normal facilities (tv, table, chair, toiletries, wifi) and we could go to Reception for more tea/milk/water, which was much appreciated. However, the issue of floor cleanliness became the turning point for us. In all 3 types of rooms we occupied it wasn't nice to walk on the floor in bare feet. All the floors (bare black floorboards) need a good scrub and in Room 17, the curtains need to be taken down and washed, the bottom 4 inches being grimy. This doesn't fit with the description "Luxury". After the staff had bent over backwards to make our stay special, we felt we would be churlish and ungrateful if we brought up the subject of cleanliness again, so we ended up moving to another hotel.

If you stay in the main house, the doors are about 5ft high, no good if you are 6ft!!!
