We stayed at The Barrister Hotel in Valletta for three nights and had a very pleasant experience overall. The hospitality was excellent, both the manager and staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our stay comfortable. The hotel itself was clean, well-maintained, and located right in the heart of Valletta. The location is fantastic, surrounded by beautiful restaurants, historic sights, and everything you would want to explore in Malta. Unfortunately, there was significant noise from nearby music venues that continued until around 3:00 a.m., making it difficult to sleep. This was not the hotel’s fault, and the staff did their best to help by changing our room, but unfortunately the noise remained an issue. If you are a light sleeper, prefer quiet evenings, or are travelling with young children, I would recommend staying in a quieter area outside central Valletta. Breakfast was good, although there were no hot breakfast options. It was still a pleasant start to the day. Overall, The Barrister Hotel offers excellent service, a spotless environment, and an unbeatable location. The only downside was the nighttime noise that comes with staying in the centre of Valletta.

The Barrister is in a central location within a short walk of most of the bars, restaurants and sights of Valletta. It's not fully serviced but staff are available at all times. Rooms have tea and coffee making, water and soft drinks included. Breakfast has a good selection of fruit, cereals, cold meats and cheeses, bread and pastries, and drinks are prepared to order. There is a lift to all floors and it has a characterful interior with much charm. The only negative is the noise late into the evenings from an adjacent bar. The fact that the hotel provided complimentary ear plugs in the room indicates the level of the problem. My room shared the same street as the bar, other rooms on the other side of the hotel are probably quieter. If you are a light sleeper I'd suggest to confirm room location before booking.

Perfect location to enjoy Valetta and to use as a base to explore other parts of Malta, including just a 10-15 minute walk to the ferry point we used to go to Gozo. The room was very clean and a comfortable bed. I would highlight the hotel proprieter Mark for his welcome and incredible local knowledge and willingness to make time for us in his busy schedle to help us make some local plans as it was our first visit to Malta. He even contacted a trusted Gozo based taxi and tour guide who met us upon our arrival at the island. There is a wealth of nearby restaurants caterering for all tastes, including some roof top eating places with great views. Some people have left reviews relating to the late night noise, but honestly with the window shut and AC on, we didn't notice a thing and for me it just added to the friendly vibe and buzz that is Valetta. A final shout out to Jason who is the local taxi and tour guide who sorted the airport run and spent a day with and was really friendly and crammed a lot in for us so that we didn't miss anything.

Would I stay at The Barrister again?............. DEFINITELY! This small, but perfectly formed hotel was ideal for my four day stay in Valletta. Every member of staff were exceptional in their customer service, offering insider tips on where to go and see. The room was spotless and the continental style breakfast set us up for the days of sightseeing.

The room was fine although little natural light as we were looking out at a wall across a narrow street, although the details said ‘city view’. The hotel management are very helpful about what to do and see. From the pictures on the website we were expecting a roof terrace for hotel guests however the roof terraces are attached to 3 rooms on the top floor only. There is no bar in the hotel which is unusual. The noise of the loud music coming from the bars around the corner into the early hours of the morning is awful, then the nearby construction work starts up before 7am. There seems little the hotel can do about this currently.

We stayed at The Barrister Hotel in Valletta to celebrate the New Year and had a wonderful time. The hotel location is excellent, in the centre of the city, and close to the main tourist attractions, bars, restaurants, buses and ferries. All the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our room was a good size and comfortable, with all the amenities we needed, including a good sized walk-in shower. There was some noise from the local bars, due to being so central, but keeping the windows closed kept most of the noise out. Earplugs were provided but not needed. The continental breakfast was fresh with a good variety to choose from and staff were very attentive, offering a range of hot and cold drinks. We would recommend the Barrister to anyone wanting a boutique experience in the heart of Valletta.

All was good, but the bathroom is not appropriate to just take shower. Planned to have bath all the time. Also very noisy at night because close to the clubs.

Central Valletta location. Staff were always courteous and helpful. Room small but fresh. It is noisy in the surrounding streets so if you’re a light sleeper it may not be the hotel for you (although they do supply ear plugs!).

Great location, lovely hotel, immaculately clean. Warm welcome, very friendly & helpful staff, manager Mark gave good advice for walking in the countryside. Room very spacious & comfortable. Good selection of items for breakfast. Would benefit from a bar, although there are plenty around. Major downside for me was the nightime noise from a neighbouring bar, it was SO LOUD and on Fri/Sat/Sun nights, this noise went on until 05:30-06:00 the next morning, from people singing, shouting & screaming. Not as noisy for as long, on weekdays, maybe the bar shut earlier than on the weekend. I sleep with silicone earplugs & music still too loud to sleep for me, husband coped a bit better as he would sleep on a washing line, during a firework display, though he was kept awake too at times. Local rules/street signs say noise to be kept down after 23:00 for the locals, but this is not enforced. Really enjoyed the break though, lots to see & do across Malta/Gozo/Comino, buses good but very busy. Fast ferries & gondolas good too. Everyone out & about very friendly, good range of restaurants to eat at, English widely spoken.

The staff were nice and the hotel is beautiful but overall this is overpriced The main issue for us was the noise in our room coming from adjacent bars. There is not much to the hotel apart from a breakfast room, and the hero picture is misleading as it is a private terrace which is not accessible to most rooms We later stayed in a nicer, cheaper hotel very close
