A Cortijo that has been in the family for 4generations and has reared bulls for the corrida . This is a family committed to an old way of life. The bulls are within easy distance almost touchable. We had olive wood on the fire at night as we ate our meal prepared by Ramona and decided upon at breakfast time. We speak spanish and I think if you don't you need to be aware of the fact Ramona and Maria Jesus do not. We spent 2days here in March with our dog and loved the peace and quiet and were ble to walk around and relax. The weather was great and that night we had a "tormento" storm with lightning and thunder and because we were so high up and further away from the heart of the storm the sky was fantastic. The downside is the road to the farm! It took us 30 minutes of rough track. We were driving a Saab estate and needed a 4x4 so we did take things slowly so you need to be aware of this. We loved the place and it was a wonderful experience .

If you have a 4 wheel drive you are OK. If not, arriving at El Añadio is like rowing out to a beautiful island, half an hours hard work before you land. But what a beautiful unspoiled island inhabited by magnificent wild beasts and friendly, welcoming natives. If you want to experience peace or great excitement, modern convenience (wifi) or an almost lost lifestyle you will find it there. The true culture of Spain.

Off the beaten path down a 1500 y.o. Roman road where the bulls are prepared to fight in the corrida. Sra. Maria Jesus is your hostess. "Lose your watch" is how she greeted us. We did and immediately changed to lounge around the pool where she served olives and bread and manchego cheese. Dinner at 11:00. Six rooms in long stone building nicely furnished. Everything at your comfort. We accompanied Miguel on his feeding round in the AM and got some great pics of the bulls and cows. Not your typical turista stop. Worth the extra drive on the road to Madrid/Granada.

The most wonderful hotel and stunning location with magnificent bulls wandering around. Ramona was so lovely appearing when we needed anything and the lady owner was welcoming too. However this little bit of heaven turned into hell when we were invited to watch an unplanned bullfight between 2 trainee matadors and first a little cow then a small bull. I used to work in an abattoir but I was apalled by the cruelty. I would have highly recommended this potentially wonderful hotel but cannot. Be warned you are staying in a non EEC abattoir with rooms.

Great experience! Spent two nights at this Bull farm. Great to relax, nice pool, wonderful people and fantastic place to relax and enjoy the sunset with a spanish red...food could be improved and be warned you need coins for coffee, water etc as its all from dispensing machines!
